My PS has now been changed to Mr James in whiston hospital. My op date is 1st may 2014. So my plastic surgeon ended up being a lady called Jenny Goodenough. She works for Mr James. She was actually really nice, not very talkative but straight to the point. I am happy with my results so far and that's all that counts really. She's done a good job.

Slight concern.

Yesterday I went to get my sutures snipped and tape changed. Didn't really look at them much when I got home but iv showered today (which I must say feels great). I had to leave on the tape while in the shower then change them after each shower and do this for another week. So when iv looked today and there have been a few sutures still sticking out which iv pulled out myself with some tweezers. Don't know if this happens to everyone but at this stage (16 days post op) I feel like they are at their worst. There is, to me, a gapping hole at the join under my left breast. Which isn't pleasing. My left breast seems to be healing not as good as the right. The left one is the worse one. I love my right one better. It's prettier, shape wise. Iv uploaded some pics for you to look at. I still think they look big, does anyone agree?

2week update

Hi ladies. So I have to say that I'm not feeling too bad at all. Feel great in myself and not as tired as I was expecting. I go back to work on Sunday (weep) but feel that I can do that. For the 1st week after surgery I didn't have much pain at all but this second week my breasts seem to be really tender and sore to touch. Not on the scar areas though (they're fine) more around the top and sides. It's feels like when your due on and you get tender breasts but a bit worse. Did anyone else get this? Just been taking pain killers now and then but taking codeine before bed to help me sleep. Go back to the hospital tmr to get my dressings changed again. Then hopefully I can start showering again. Having a shallow bath is really quite annoying. I'm not a bath person as it is, I'd much rather take a shower.
I have read a few reviews where people have felt quite emotional either before or after surgery but I am yet to feel like this. I am waiting for it to happen but there's no signs yet! Starting to think I am not normal and emotionless? It might hit when I least expect it. Will post pics tmr after dressing change. X

Oh don't get me wrong, I am very happy with my new chest but I haven't been at the point were I wanna cry or anything! The only thing making me wanna cry at the mo is the pain in my left breast. There is a small area where there is a stitch sticking out of the nipple which is quite sore and the thought of the nurse having to trim it tmr terrifies me. Xx

Oh, you won't feel a thing, she'll be snipping the stitch not you! I pulled 3 or 4 out myself. if they come easily then they are not doing anything. If they tug, leave well alone.

I have had both, hyperactive and then crying, but for good reasons all - silly things like remembering that I will be able to wear a swimming costume from a normal shop, or that people don't stare at my chest in the street It catches me unawares though, when least expecting it... so it might happen still!

it was the same for me at first, top and sides really painful, incision bits were fine... Now it has changed a bit for me, more underneath. Having the dressings change is fab, especially when you get the go ahead to shower!
