Worst Decision of my Life

I am writing this review to document my experience with Dr. Lahar so others can make an informed decision.

I underwent an AirSculpt procedure with Dr. Lahar after being told it was a minimally invasive procedure with a 1–3 day recovery. That was not my experience. My recovery lasted approximately two weeks, and I experienced post-operative complications.

During the period when I had complications, Dr. Lahar did not examine me in person. Instead, a nurse took photos of my condition and sent them to him, and decisions about my care were made remotely. I found this extremely concerning, especially given that complications were involved and should have warranted direct physician evaluation.

The results are poor and disfiguring. As shown in my before-and-after photos:
• Several areas show little to no improvement, despite being treated
• My legs are now noticeably asymmetrical
• One knee appears bulged and abnormal, as if fat was not properly removed, creating an uneven and unnatural contour
• This deformity was not present before surgery

Dr. Lahar claimed that the deformity was due to my body being “not symmetrical.” I do not believe I had abnormal asymmetry prior to surgery, and my before photos do not show this issue. The explanation felt dismissive rather than a meaningful assessment of a surgical outcome.

In addition to the deformities, I now have noticeable scars from this procedure. More than 7–8 months later, the scars are still visible, and people frequently ask me about them. This has been emotionally distressing and was never explained as a likely outcome for a procedure marketed as minimally invasive.

For my 6-month post-operative visit, I flew to Los Angeles specifically to be evaluated by Dr. Lahar. I was informed ahead of time that only a nurse would see me and that the doctor would not be present. After significant back-and-forth and insisting on physician evaluation, Dr. Lahar eventually showed up, but only after I pushed for it.

Given the lack of physician involvement during complications, the poor and deforming results, the visible scarring, and the way my concerns were handled, I am in the process of filing a complaint with the Medical Board so they can determine whether this outcome and level of care constitute medical malpractice.

I paid a significant amount of money for this procedure and trusted Dr. Lahar with my body. Based on my experience, I strongly encourage anyone considering surgery with him to carefully research, ask detailed questions about post-operative care, and understand how complications and accountability are handled.

I have more pictures to share but they are more private.
