However, that wasn’t discussed initially during my consultation. Dr. Gear has a very nonchalant tone so if you are not engaging with him it can take some getting used to his bedside manner. Whether or not to obtain blood work prior to any surgical procedure is predicated for us on the anesthesia society guidelines. Patients over the age of 50 or patients with pre-existing conditions, typically get a preoperative work up, including labs, EKG, etc. We always give patients the option of pursuing preoperative clearance if they so desire. Visceral fst cannot be treated with liposuction. I discuss this with every patient prior to liposuction..
