Week 2 bruising
Not looking great without the garment on! Hoping swelling and bruising go down. Still have hard spots etc too.
1 week later - Still bruised but can move about normally
My skin on my inner thighs seems to be retracting which is good cos I was worried it wouldn’t. The back of my thighs are still badly bruised with black purple and yellow but my inner thighs are now just yellow from the bruises healing.
If the compression garment wasn’t so ridiculously tight in the waist I could go about normally in a job situation. However because the waist of the garment is so tight I need to fold it over and wear either a baggy top or pants or leggings over the compression to manage it if I go for groceries etc. I don’t think you could meet with a friend or go on a date only because you can’t really conceal the compression garment in normal attire. Well t least I can’t cos I have a bit of a tummy. Just to let others know.
I have a few activities this weekend with friends so not sure if I’ll cut the stomach panel off one of my garments or wear 2 layers of compression style leggings then change back to the compression garment once I’m home. I’ll have to see. - I had a 1 hour appointment today that I wore tight leggings to instead of the garment. When I got home I swapped straight back into the garment, but I was in a rush today so I’ll look into a better strategy (hopefully!)
Had a bit of numbness and itchy ness and pin when my thighs touch the toilet seat but things seem to be normalising.
Supplements
I’ve sporadically taken: vitamin c , collagen, zinc, magnesium. Note I took magnesium because I thought it might help with the initial pain I had - I’m not sure if any of them helped with anything to be honest though. Possibly the magnesium did?
I’m going to try some vitamin b12 which is
Good for nerve damage repair- ie to help with the itching and numbness.
Lotions
I’ve sporadically used: Arnica cream, emu oil, vitamin e, emu oil cream.
I haven’t noticed any of them helping my bruising, but I feel like the vitamin e helped my inner thigh skin retraction, it could have been coincidental though. I thought the arnica had helped my bruising on the front but I’m still massively bruised on the back so not sure what that s about.
Advice
Also another thing to note is you swell up more at night. So in the day I wear an old compress garment which is about a size 8 nice and super tight (especially on the inner thighs) in the night I switch to my larger garment which is about a size 10. Tight but not super duper crazy tight. It will really help your comfort if you do this. Also my extra tight garment is knee length while other garment is full length - it’s had no effect on ankle swelling at all so buy any length garment.
I think my thighs themselves are overall a bit swollen still as part o the healing process but we will see.

Day 2. Good result so far
Day 2 was able to drive no more bleeding but still a fair bit of pain. Like someone has beaten my legs. Luckily not too much bruising either
