Two months post-op

If there's one message that I'd like to convey, it's that healing from lipo can be a very prolonged process.
My gigantic black bruises have faded, but greyish residues of them still remain. I DO hope they'll dissipate completely in due course.
The pain and numbness also haven't gone completely. They're worse on the flanks than on the thighs, especially on my right flank, where there's an area of hardness that's softening very, very slowly. Only the upper thighs are sore now, and even that only when I rub them or sit in one position for prolonged periods.
What about the result, you ask, am I pleased? Yes. The procedure has definitely smoothed out the curve of my hips and decreased the size of my butt, both on top and bottom. There's a bit of unevenness, but the overall shape, I believe, will look just fine in bike shorts. When you examine the photo evidence, do bear in mind that this is a 60 year old butt in its very worst, most unfit glory: I've been a slug since the New Year.
I'm about to embark on a training regimen for a week-long bike excursion with some very dynamic friends in September, so I hope the overall shape will tone up a bit over the next four months.
Other than that, the cannula insertion scars are visibly grey, and my PS said he can revise them ( I expect a tiny excision of the offending colour under local anaesthetic), which I think I'll request in due course.

At 3 wks + 3 days post op, you'd think the pain would be all gone, if not the bruising. To my surprise, it went the other way: thanks to my daily massages, the bruising is all but gone. The photos of my legs, from 11 to 16 days post-op, show the bruising finally starting to dissipate, especially the bloody (not swearing, truly) high tide lines on the insides of my thighs. These high tide lines have now all cleared up. There's still some green bruising on the fronts of my shins, and greyish shadows on each thigh. But even now, the deep inner pain persists, and I feel it when I rub my thighs and calves (the right one's much worse) and with each step. My flanks too are both numb AND sore to the touch.
On the bright side, the extreme swelling's gone - my legs are soft again, and my ankles have reappeared, though the calves are still rather overfull. And, I've been off the painkillers for about a week and a half.
My butt measurement has decreased by 1" from its pre-op value, and my weight is nearly back to normal. And my jeans are loose in the upper thigh: which tells me that the procedure achieved its aim of reducing the thunder thighs. If only it did't hurt so much!!!

Here are some pre-op photos taken by the Dr. himself. Yikes, do you see those saddlebags? I do hope that they'll be gone forever at the end of the recovery period . Admittedly, I've been slacking on the fitness regimen, having done pretty much nothing since the new year, but still: these pics are unforgiving.
