I Love my Results. Just Unorganized on the Staff
I usually don’t write reviews for anything but, I know views help other people and help others find the right doctor for them And get a better understanding of the procedure. So I absolutely love my results Dr. Salama is great and have a great personality.
So my surgery date was actually June 9, 2022 I received a phone call a week later saying the doctor Salama will be out of the office on that date and my date then was changed into June 13, 2022. So I had to change my flight which actually cost me an extra $150. I also had to get in contact with my caregiver who was supposed to take care of me and see if the new dates was available thank God she had availability for the new dates. I also had to inform my job about the new change the dates for my surgery. My prescription was sent to my hometown to be filled everything was filled except my pain medication. When I called my pharmacy they explain to me because it was from out of town that I wouldn’t be able to get that filled or they need more Notification from the doctor. I proceeded and called the office to let them know that my pain medication was not able to be filled they then told me to not worry about it they will send the prescription to the pharmacy in Hollywood Miami. Nichole then asked me what day will I be arriving. I told her that I will be arriving on Sunday she said not to worry that they would do the preop and everything on the same day she then also proceeded to tell me that she will send my prescription on Sunday to Walgreens for me to pick up. When I spoke to her on that Friday June 11th she said that she will send email with all the instructions on what not to do and what to do you the day before surgery. I never received the email I check my email Friday, Saturday and Sunday email was never sent.
I wasn’t sure whether or not to take my blood pressure medication or not so when I got to the office that Monday I told her that she never sent the email and that I took my blood pressure medicine in the morning she than ask me what kind of blood pressure medication do I take because sometimes Dr. Salama doesn’t like for patient to take certain blood pressure medication blood pressure medication before surgery. So the one that I take it was fine for me to proceed with surgery. So my appointment was June 13 at 11 AM I arrived there on time I didn’t get into the back and to 3 PM they explained to me that they had an emergency revision. I understood that and had no problem with that. I didn’t leave The clinic that night and to 9:30 PM. I was in a lot of pain and I just felt dizzy which I think is normal for after surgery. The prescription for my pain meds was never filled Sorry for leaving the office I ask them where was my pain pills they explained to me that it was sent to the Walgreens pharmacy when me and my caregiver arrive there the pharmacy was closed. So I went that night without my pain medicine.
Prior to talking to Nichole when I got to the office I explain to her that I wasn’t able to pick up the pain medicine Sunday because she did not send it to the pharmacy she told me not to worry about it and that if she had to go get it herself that she would. That was a lie when I was leaving Nichole was not there I asked another nurse where’s my pain medicine they explained to me that it was at the pharmacy. The next day I came to the office for a check up I was OKay. When I came to the office again on Friday they check my Hemo levels and it drop to 7.1. They then called Dr. Salama in to speak with me and also they called the anesthesiologist to speak with me. The anesthesiologist then explained to me that I needed a blood transfusion and that if I get it done there that it would be $1300. But if I go to the hospital it would be 3200.
Monday when I came back to the office they check my hemolevel again I was at a 8.5. I decided that I did not need the blood transfusion so I did not get the blood transfusion. The anesthesiologist came in the room and told me since They ordered the blood that I had to pay the 1300 for a blood transfusion that I did not receive. I told him that I was not gonna pay $1300 for a blood transfusion that I was not going to get they didn’t send a man named Ruben to talk to me and he’s told me that I had to pay because they already ordered the blood.
I then proceeded to tell them all of the unprofessionalism me not receiving an email a day before surgery with Instruction, not getting my pain medication, and have to change my flight. He then told me that he will give me a $300 discount and I still was charge $1000 for a blood transfusion that I didnt not receive.
My Surgery went great I love my results Dr. Salama was great but again it was so on organized. How do you get charge for a blood transfusion that you did not received. I would not never go back to Elite again for any surgery. My day of check out I was the impression that when you check out the doctor look over you that was never done as well a nurse looked over me.
