Lots of Love for Dr. T and Beatrice
I had my lipo done on 8/30. Lipo of my stomach, flanks and lower back.
I’ve always been in shape, but my body has been through a lot over the last year and it has been a struggle. I used to be very active - I worked out sometimes twice a day and also did recreational activities such as boxing. But my stomach area had always been a challenge due to huge benign tumors. They grew aggressively over the last couple of years, and no matter what I did, I still would look 4-6 months pregnant. It definitely affected my confidence.
After I had a major operation earlier this year to remove them, I thought my stomach area would become in shape again, but the definition was not returning, no matter how much I dieted and exercised.
I did not know the first thing about getting cosmetic surgery, and I had a million questions for Dr. T, all of which he patiently answered, both via phone and at both my in person consultations. I had other consultations scheduled with other doctors but canceled after speaking at length with Dr. T and feeling confident about his experience, compassion and patience.
Beatrice is an angel. She’s so sweet, patient and always has a smile on her face. Also, she gave me her personal number to text her with questions and she’s always responsive (I had a ton of questions!).
The surgery itself was a breeze. I arrived at the scheduled time and went through the normal process with the anesthesiologist and surgical team. I was told I was speaking political gibberish after coming out of anesthesia (hahaha, no idea why!). My best friend picked me up from surgery.
I have to say, make sure the person who picks you up is caring and patience, drives carefully (you feel every single bump in the road), and is super compassionate cause they have to help you with everything! I couldn’t be more blessed to have a best friend like mine :’(
Days 1-3 post op, the pain was the worst! Thank God for pain meds, but even with that, still a lot of discomfort and pain. I think I regretted everything every single minute! I couldn’t get up and out of bed without help, yet I always had to pee.
I went for my first post up on Day 5 and Dr. T said things are coming along fine, even though I complained about everything cause I was so itchy and uncomfortable in my faja (haha, I hate it).
Dr. T was so sweet and gave me roses. :) they look really great in my living room.
I got my first lymphatic draining massage on Day 6, and can I just say, I am now a believer. Before it, I thought those things were BS, but it really did provide me relief! I felt less stiff, less in pain, less hardened and just generally better. Can’t wait for my next one in 2 days! (10 days post op)
I am now 8 days post op and though still swollen and now my stomach has began to harden, I am beginning to see results and I am so glad I got it over it. I’m really looking forward to taking this faja off (did I mention I hate it? Lol), and seeing my final results.
If you’re thinking of the journey, already on it and in recovery like me, hang in there. It’s not easy, but we can make it through. Everyone has their own individual reasons for doing this, stay strong, especially during those tough moments and remember yours. Pain is temporary, but being able to gain your confidence back is priceless.
Good luck everyone
