Lipo 360 on slim figure
Late 20’s, 5’7 156lbs. I had lipo 360 and fat transfer to my outer hips. My surgery was about 3hrs long.
Supplies I Bought:
Dog training pads(these didn’t work for me. they don't hold much at all)
Bed protection underpad( i didn't end up needing this when I got home I was not leaking anymore)
Compression socks( Not really needed. They give you some prior to surgery. I wore mine a day or two after surgery.)
Dial soap ( Office requires you to bathe with this prior to surgery)
Sweats and zip-up sweatshirt ( Office required you to wear something loose-fitting and the top should be some with buttons or a zipper nothing no pullovers)
Menstrual pads( This worked instead of the padding they put on after surgery. I suggest overnight or a heavy flow)
Female urinal( This was helpful since I could not sit and prevents you from getting urine on your faja if you squat)
Tylenol ( I used Tylenol instead of the prescription meds)
Butterfly closure bandaids( I bought the Walmart brand and they did not stick well at all)
Nexcare waterproof bandaids( These didn't keep water out for me)
Nexcare 3M Steri Strips( LIFE SAVERS!! I wish I would have bought these day one! They really stick to your skin closing your incision)
Nexcare Tegaderm( Another lifesaver! Kept the water out)

Day 1:
When I woke up completely I already had my compression garment on. Right after coming out of the OR I was very cold and shaking I felt pain right away but only on my lower abdomen. When I woke up completely I already had my compression garment on. They gave me pain meds through my IV before leaving and the pain was gone. While leaving the facility I was able to walk and had no pain. I was leaking a lot from my incision on my back. I went through the padding and threw my pants and on my compression socks. When I got back to my hotel I used a menstrual pad to replace the padding that they put on and that helped A LOT with the leaking! I only had assistance for a few hours after my surgery but I was able to manage the rest of the night on my own. The first night was not bad pain wise it just felt like pressure. It was uncomfortable to sleep on my stomach because I usually sleep on my back.
Day 2: During the middle of the night of day one I could tell the pain had changed and it made it a little bit more difficult to get out of bed on my stomach when I had to use the restroom. The pain was still bearable but I could tell that it had increased. I used a female urinal when I went to the restroom since I am unable to sit. It works perfectly with my undergarment since there is a hole.
I had my post-op appointment this morning. I was able to drive myself to my appointment while sitting on my butt pillow. It was not easy but I managed. When I arrived at my appointment she removed my compression garment I did get light headed. It didn’t happen right away but after a few minutes, I felt dizzy. They removed my stitches (since I'm from out of town and couldn’t come back next week to get this done) and changed my dressing.
I drove back home (2hrs) after my post-op appointment again with my butt pillow and it was not easy. I did not have anyone to help me during this process so I had to push through it on my own. I had a caregiver that took me to surgery and back to the hotel after. Of course, it’s definitely easy if you have someone to drive you and if you live in the same state as your doctor. When I finally got out of the car I definitely felt a lot of pain in the pelvic area which is where all my swelling it. After sitting or laying down for a long time when I stand up it is painful and hard to stand up straight. The pain was mainly in my pelvic area.
Day 3:
I am still mobile it is just really uncomfortable getting up after laying for a long time. I have swelling in my pelvic area that has gone down a little bit. That is mainly where the pain is coming from. I have reduced the swelling with ice.
Day 4:
Has been the same as day 3.
Day 11:
The pain is mostly in my back and sides. My skin feels tight and itchy. I am starting to notice some lumps. My swelling has decreased but is still in my pelvic area.
I have been using Steri Strips to close my incisions as sutures would do. This has helped my skin come together and only form a horizontal scar versus and open wound.
