6 Days Post Op - Loving the Results So Far

I had my post op visit yesterday and my stitches were removed. I am finally able to post some pictures of my before and after. Please keep in mind that I am still very very swollen especially in the lower abdomen and all the fluid has collected there. Dr. T closes all incisions so scars heal better, especially on African American skin. As time progresses this will be reabsorbed and the pooch will be gone!! More to come!!

Day 1 after surgery

Oh the pain! I felt as if I got hit by a truck and he back up and ran over me again. I’m also starting to see some bruising under the garment. The swelling has started to set in too. It’s still hard to tell how I look since I can’t take my garment off for the two days, but when I got home and took my sweatshirt off my friend was in awe. His response “the way you look right now, even in the garment and swollen, you make me want to get liposuction”. I’m taking my meds a prescribed but getting in and out of bed is extremely difficult and painful. I have no leakage, since they wrapped me up well, and I’m staying hydrated but I barely have an appetite. Can’t post any pictures yet as I still don’t know what I look like but I was told they removed 4500cc. More to come!

Day of surgery

On the day of surgery I was really calm, it could be because I’m a naturally calm person but also Dr. T’s and entire team made me feel super comfortable. He greeted me with a hug and I met his nurse and anesthesiologist, who was hilarious. They all made me feel relaxed going in. I remember absolutely nothing one I laid down. I woke up in recovery in my garment and his nurse was feeding me crackers and juice. She then helped me get dressed and walked me to the car where my friend was waiting. I slept most of the day but when I woke up I felt really nauseous. I texted Dr. T (he gives all his patients he personal cell phone number) he called me right away and told me what to do. He even called me later on that same night just check on me.

Overall rating

If you are looking for a doctor who will only tell you what you want to hear and create false hope, then Dr. Taranow aka Dr. T isn’t for you. However, if you are looking for a doctor who is not only experienced,, brutally honest, puts your safety first, tells you what to expect, and makes you look amazing at the same time, then this is certainly the doctor or you. I went to 5 consultations with 5 different doctors, all of which I found on Real Self, including Dr. T. I picked him not only because the consultation lasted close to an hour (longest one ever) but he made it perfectly clear what I can expect from surgery given the current state of my body and what he would do. He never sold me a fairytale or gave me false hope. I’m 6 days post op and if I ever decide to have more work done, I will not hesitate to return to him for treatment. He is truly an artist.
