Liposuction of flanks, abdomen, and bra line after CoolSculpting gone wrong.

WORTH IT$6,200
I had tumescent liposuction on March 20th to help with abnormalities caused by CoolSculpting.
Dr. Harris removed almost 3 litres of fat from my abdomen, flanks, and bra line. Despite needing this procedure thanks to my lack of research and a crappy tech, I’m really happy with my results at 5 days post op.

I would love to have a private discussion with you about the cool sculpting “going wrong”. I had this done years ago when the technology was new and I didn’t know it could go wrong. Needless to say I am planning on having a tummy tuck done due to significant skin in that area of my tummy (kind of more poochie ish than it “should be” and another doctor asked me ab cool sculpting being treated after childbirth via 2 c- sections) lower stomach above my C-section scar has not healed normally, and while my doctor did a beautiful job for my Cesarion scar (you can hardly see it after my most recent childbirth eight years ago) the extra puffy tummy skin is disturbing and no exercise will help. Let me know if you are comfortable chatting about the negative results about your tummy area being treated by cool sculpting. Thank you & good luck with the liposuction recovery you look great!

I’m definitely open to chatting but I will say that I think my experience is kind of a weird case because I had just finished cancer treatment a few months before and my body’s response to CoolSculpting was lymphedema and I also formed fatty lumps which made my doctor concerned about fat embolisms. So it was kind of a specific case and once the lymphedema was more or less sorted I was left with very uneven body contours. Hence the lipo.

I had unsatisfactory results with Coolsculpt. It was extremely painful and left my abdomen more bumpy and irregular than beforehand. I ended up having a mini tummy tuck two years later and that led to exceptional results.

I'm just two weeks out exactly from my lipo - Doctor took off 10 1/2 lbs. Reading the above I am so glad I didn't go for the cool sculpt which I almost did for I had no idea that you could have bad results with it as it is non-invasive. Good luck with recovery. Drink lots of fluids, walk as much as possible and keep that damn body garment on 24/7!

I had cool sculpting done too by a not so good of a tech, and I have lumps now on my abdominal area, they aren’t big lumps but more minute and small - I was wondering if this is what happened to your abdomen? I am also planning to get lipo in July to fix this as I am unhappy and am looking for a smaller frame, but reading the comment about fat embolism worries me. I didn’t know this could happen if you have fibrous tissue from previous coolsculpting

The Itchy weeks: Just a quick update

User Avatar

I’m a week and a half post op today and things are going really well.
The first 2-3 days were pretty brutal, I’m not going to lie. I was incredibly sore (I’m allergic to ibuprofen and narcotics so no pain killers for me) and uncomfortable. My incisions leaked a lot in the first day and a half and really slowed down by the end of day two. Since day 4ish I’ve just been slightly sore but it’s actually been pretty easy since the first few days. Other than the flipping itching! Not my incisions, just all over the treated areas. I’m assuming it’s my nerves waking up but wow is it ever itchy. It’s not as bad as it was a few days ago but I’m still frequently itchy.
I had to order a new faja garment from amazon because the one provided by my doctor is basically an abdominal wrap and a corset top and they are constantly shifting around and the areas that are supposed to be compressed aren’t always being covered by the garments because of the shifting. Ill post a picture of what I was given by my doctor. I do have a lot of hard swelling lumps but I’ve also been really active, probably more than recommended.

That’s a lot of bruising or burns. Did he use smart Lipo?

It’s bruising. I’m almost two weeks post op now and the bruising is essentially gone. It wasn’t smart lipo so no burns.

Ok great. I’m having my stomach and flanks done in Toronto in a few weeks. It’s so much more expensive here. Wish I could get your price.

Who is your surgeon? I did a lot of consultations to find the right fit in the right price range. There were some cheaper in the Mississauga area but I would be sacrificing on expertise which I didn’t want to do. Dr Harris was reasonably priced, incredibly knowledgeable, and his results show his skills and competence so I completely trusted him to be the right surgeon for the job. I did consult with Dr Mulholland but while I found him to be skilled, I thought Dr Harris was just as skilled for a better price and close to Toronto in Burlington.

You are looking fabulous!! Can really see improved shape and flatter tummy. I’m pretty sure the lumps and bumps are inevitable...just gotta massage and drink lots of water and stay active to help flush your system. It kinda sucks because being active means more swelling but I think it has to get worse before it gets better. Thanks for sharing your journey!

I have a similar body type and looking at this same procedure. Can you tell me what you paid ?

Two weeks post op

I was officially two weeks post op on Wednesday. The swelling has gone down a ton, I have no pain (other than tender to the touch), the itching has finally stopped, and I’m feeling capable of doing my usual activities. I’m really happy with my results so far. I feel like I’m way more confident and I’m doing things that I wouldn’t have ever considered before simply because I was uncomfortable in my body. While the first like 3 days sucked big time and I was like nope would not recommend (and I have a high pain tolerance, I once fell asleep getting a rib tattoo) now that I’m passed that stage I feel like it’s worth it. A few crap days to feel the confidence I do now is worth it.

You look great how are the incisions? Will they leave a noticeable scar?

They are fading really well! I use vitamin e on them every day now, I waited until I knew they were closed and healed over.
