Very dissatisfied with results

I spoke to the Dr. B about my dissatisfaction in my results at follow up. He gave multiple reasons why basically I shouldn’t expect much better w a revision. When I continued to counter he finally said ok he’d do a revision once I got my weight down. I had gained 3 pounds, yes 3 pounds more than the time of the procedure. I quickly realized he’d make me jump through hoops for a revision and I wasn’t confident I’d be any more satisfied after one w him. Last 3 things he said before I left his office ‘you gained weight?! How did you gain weight?! Wow how did you gain weight?!’ I calmly and professionally left his office.

I originally gave him a good review right after the procedure which was a referendum on the actual procedure and the result 1 or 2 weeks later. I was optimistic once the swelling went down I’d be thrilled. I soon after noticed significant asymmetry and told him I vividly remember his assistant in the operating room telling him to move back to the other side of my abdomen to balance the suction. She was monitoring the measurements. He shrugged her off and did not take her suggestion. When I mentioned this to him in my follow up as I started to notice the assymetry he said they (the assistants) don’t always see when he’s getting in certain areas, and when the swelling went down it’ll be fine. It wasn’t.

This time I did a ton of research and consultations before moving forward with my revision, which I got last Thursday. All the plastic surgeons said the same thing ‘it’s like you didn’t even have lipo.’ Granted that could’ve been part of their selling point, but ALL of them?!

Anyway, so far I have no regrets in my chosen surgeon for the revision. I lLOVE what I see so far, but will wait to do a thorough review this time, until after ALL the swelling and bruising is gone.

I hope Dr. B will exercise a little more attention to detail during the procedure, listen to his assistants in the operating room, and realize shaming someone for gaining 3 lbs can stay with them for days weeks months and even years. Consider possible hormonal, thyroid issues that could’ve caused this. I don’t believe he MEANT to ‘shame’ me, but instead this was probably part of a ‘make a patient jump through hoops for a revision’ policy. But just bringing it to his attention.

Dr. B is simply amazing!

This was my first time getting a cosmetic surgery that required any form of anesthesia. Needless to say, I was extremely nervous. On the day of my pre-op, Dr. B was so calm, personable and comforting. This put a lot of my anxiety at bay. He assured me he’d take good care of me, and told me about his expertise in the field, along with his Harvard training. On the day of surgery he was just as pleasant, polite and professional. The nurses got me all prepped, he put on his motivation music and got to work as a brilliant sculptor would on a piece of art. I am about 1.5 week into recovery and I’m very happy with the results thus far. I told him at my 1 week post op that it must be so rewarding for him to know the confidence his patients feel after they leave his care. I’m so thrilled and gr8ful! Thank you Dr. B!
