Awake lipo + BBL for a small Asian female, 32 yrs old

After multiple consultations with top rated surgeons in Los Angeles and Orange County, I decided to get my long awaited awake lipo and BBL with Dr. Yovino. It was his and his team's professionalism, his knowledge on the procedure, and the results of his previous cases that confirmed that he was the right doctor for me. He listened carefully to my goals and set very thorough and realistic expectations. I am a size 2-4 asian woman, height 5'6, weight 125 pounds. I wanted a natural, yet perky and defined butt to complement a more hourglass figure. I also decided to remove the buccal fat from my cheeks and did lipo in my chin/jawline to make it more defined and slim. I always thought of myself as skinny fat even though I followed a healthy diet and exercised 4 times a week.
Dr. Yovino dedicates his full time and energy to his patients. I went in for surgery in the morning and was out in the afternoon. I got lipo in the abdomen, back, and flanks and transferred that fat to the butt. I was awake the entire time and did not experience any pain! I took medicine as prescribed and did not need to take any extra. Dr. Yovino's staff was extremely helpful and his head nurse Joanna escorted me to my uber. I was able to get home by myself. While I was in bed the rest of the day, I was not in any pain. I was padded up very nicely and securely and the only discomfort I felt was having to stay on my stomach most of the day and while sleeping. I did not take any pain medication, not even advil.
After 48 hours, I was able to take off my garments for the first time and I was so pleasantly surprised to see minimal bruising. There was swelling, but overall my body and face were still slimmer and more shapely thanks to Dr. Yovino's meticulous work. He is very thorough and got a lot of fat out! I listened to my body and took it really easy the first week to two weeks. I ate very cleanly and took walks, but never pushed myself. I think the proper aftercare is key to a swift and successful recovery and Dr. Yovino's staff walked me through each step.
Swelling continued to come down for the weeks following the surgery. I'd say I started really seeing the initial results of the face after two weeks. I'm sure results would be faster if I could sleep with my head elevated, but with my BBL, I had to keep my face down while sleeping. The scars are all minimal and he didnt make any more incisions than he absolutely needed to. I had barely any bruising in the abdomen and back, just a little bit around the butt and tailbone.
I am currently on my fifth recovery week and I am loving the results! I am back to my daily routine and have started exercising, sitting, and sleeping on my back. Dr. Yovino really personalizes his expert work and caters to your natural body shape and curve so everything looks natural, yet amazing. So excited for more progress as the weeks go by!
