Bodysculpting FAIL
I waited 3 months to write this, making sure I did everything in my power to promote good results. I am a 44 year old woman, 5'5" 128 lbs with approx 23% body fat. In March 2024 I got lipo on upper abs, lower abs, flanks, and arms for bodysculpting, hoping to remove stubborn fat pockets. The actual result? Look at my before and after photos—there is no change in my flanks and arms. And worse, my abdomen is lumpy, the skin texture is ruined, with pouchy spots over my C-section scar. I will never publicly wear a swimsuit again, I will never look good in lingerie.
I followed the aftercare instructions religiously. I wore compression garments 24hrs/day for 2 months, then 12 hrs/day on the 3rd month, and I spent an additional $400+ on compression garments (Belle didn't have any that fit me for the first 2.5 months of recovery). I did extra lymphatic massages at home and in the clinic, I borrowed then purchased lympatic massage tools. I walk or run 1-6 miles every day, lift weights 3-5x week, and I Zumba, hike, or snowboard 2-4x week. I even cut my calorie intake from 1800 to 1200, avoiding alcohol, refined carbs, and added sugar. I don't see how I can do anything more.
At my appointments, I told the medical assistants about my concerns. They were very nice but didn’t have solutions. The NP Samantha who did my procedure contacted me after my 60-day followup. Direct quote from her notes: “She was reminded that not 100% of fat is removed. She appears very critical of her body and may be having trouble visualizing her results.” Look at my before/after photos, and decide for yourself if I have a body image problem, or if I’m being gaslit.
All I wanted was the result Belle claims to guarantee: “minimum 2-5 inches of fat loss after just one visit.” The NP, sales rep, and medical assistants all said I could get a re-treat after 90 days if my results didn't improve... then the NP quit working for Belle, and the decision went to "Corporate."
Today I got a call from Katie at Belle Medical, on behalf of "Corporate," saying they "decided not to go with a re-treat," because they "don't think it would do me any good." Katie then said they "don't guarantee results," which I found odd, considering the "minimum 2-5 inches of fat loss guarantee” is plastered all over their website, and is often repeated by their sales agents, providers, and medical assistants.
I am devastated, frustrated, and angry about looking worse, wasting a painful amount of money, and being lied to by Belle Medical. When I see my body in the mirror, it’s difficult not to cry. I don’t know what to do. It gives me no joy to write a negative review and post my gross pictures online for everyone to see, but if my experience helps inform potential bodysculpting patients, I’m glad there’s one benefit.
