3 Weeks Post Op Ad Seeing Results!
"Dr. Lawton, staff & office are amazing. Jennifer the patient advocate is awesome and the surgery staff was great to work with. I am 3 weeks post op and even though I still have swelling, i am seeing results and can't wait to see the final. I have given Dr. Lawton, his facility and his staff 5 stars but there is something to be aware of.
I have a bad experience with one of his nurses and am posting so that it may give others the courage to speak up and/or for the doctor to know. Bernadette was the nurse assigned to me for my picture visit and my post op appt the day after surgery. She was very condescending and rude and acted put out that I was asking questions about procedure to be done, results and after care. Made me feel like every question I asked was stupid and she would reply with chuckled remarks and rushed me through the entire appointment. So much so that when I went to Jennifers office to pay for the procedure, i mentioned that I hoped Bernadette would not be attending on surgery day. A week later I had lipo 360 and thighs done. Bernadette was no where to be seen thankfully. BUT....she was my post op nurse the day after surgery. I guess someone had told her i complained because she literally took this opportunity to rough me up a bit. She was very rough when taking compression garment off and on and was digging her knuckles into my sides as she took it off. When i said it hurt, rather than being a bit more gentle she got more aggressive. Then when she was changing bandages she literally was ripping them off. After the second, I said that it hurt. From then on she started pinching my skin before taking bandages off which was excrutiating! So much that it put me in tears. As we were putting compression garment back on i asked about straps being secured in the front middle of my chest. I have never worn this garment so was simply asking if straps could be moved to sides since there were loops there. Here was her response "we normally secure in the front so they don't rub on your breasts but for you I will put them on the sides". I couldn't believe I was getting such aggressive responses from her when simply asking questions about my comfort! Total post op appt was less than 5 mins and I left in tears. Went to front desk to schedule my next appointment and asked the front desk to note my file that i NEVER have Bernadette again. Had i not been in so much pain that day, i probably would have left the office that day in handcuffs. How do you not have enough human decency to treat someone with a little more respect and compassion the DAY after surgery??? I hope she can never deal with another patient again as I don't want anyone else to experience her "charming" personality! :("
