A good doctor, and a smooth recovery for me
Theres lots of glowing reviews on here. I am delighted to add one more and share my experience with Dr Taranow
Quick stats : 125, 5.7, lipo for body shaping. Triceps, 360, inner and outer thigh. 3l removed.
I am a researcher so I can assure you the grunt work was done. Dr Taranow was one of 5 doctors I consulted with. Some of my insights (and differences I saw between his team and others)
1. Dr Taranow has a wealth of experience with a number of shapes, sizes and colors and will make appropriate recommendations suited for you. Since I am slender and darker skinned, he explained the cannula size he would use for me and told me some of the care and watch out tips for brown skin
2. Most of the reviews mention quicker and smoother recoveries. That usually speaks to skill and practice as well as pre and post op care. I realize each person is different but I have been lucky to be recovering quickly and smoothly.
3. Dr Taranow takes the time to address concerns and is approachable and forthright, which I appreciate very much. He also makes sure the results look natural and match with your body type and structure.
4. He offers a streamlined pricing structure (in comparison to others ) with a number of pre and post op items built in - made my life significantly easier rather than keeping track of itemization
6. Great bedside manner! Called me on the night of surgery to check on how I was doing and gave me flowers and my before photos on my first week follow up appointment to remove stitches. The personal and personalized care is touching and appreciated. He’s also present at every meeting you would have with him (consultation and pre op or any other) and offers follow up appointments where he meets with you personally.
7. The op room is located in his office space - I didn’t need to go anywhere or meet any new people or go to a different surgical center. All costs were estimated under one roof and it was comforting to see familiar faces on the day of surgery.
8. He’s pretty particular as a person. He makes the fluid he uses for the procedure himself. It’s a standard formula but he doesn’t outsource the work to someone else. He also cleans you down before surgery (with an anti bacterial soap) rather than handing you over to the nurse present since he likes the peace of mind that’s it is done to his standard and protocol.
Cindy and Beatrice up front are the nicest people - very helpful and approachable, spend time with you making sure you have all your questions answered. They also call and text with reminders and updates.
I’m too early to say much about effects of surgery (I am one week post op) but I will say a lot of me is much smaller and better shaped and I hope to see that continue over time.
