Day 5: Wore compression garment all day & night for the last time. It had become too uncomfortable to keep on all of the time and still go about my daily life. The bruising on my neck is almost gone.
Day 6: Took a full day off from wearing the compression garment so I could get some errands done and just overall get a break from having my face wrapped. All my bruising is gone.
Day 7 Post Op: Went to the Doctors office for my 1st Post Op follow up. He removed my stitches and said that my healing is going well. He advised me to keep the compression garment on every night while I sleep for the next 7 day at least. I had some increased swelling (you can see in the day 7 picture) by taking the garment off for a full day yesterday. The swelling only hurts to the touch or if I move my head upwards toward the sky. Otherwise there is no more pain associated with the procedure.

Day 3 & 4 Post Op Update: Day 3: I…

Day 3 & 4 Post Op Update:
Day 3: I started to see some yellow bruising spots on my neck. I also had a few tiny red dots (maybe broken blood vessels?) that formed sporadically around my neck as well. I had to readjust the compression garment and pull it forward off of and away from my ears. The pressure of the strap against my ears was making them red, raw and very sore. I have purchased a different garment online that has the ears cut out and it should arrive for day 5.
I was asked not to shower for 48 hour so I took my first today. I washed my hair and body separate so I could keep my neck area & stitches dry. I washed my hair (with help from my Partner) sitting in a chair bent over into the tub. I then wrapped my head again and washed my body standing in the shower. This method worked fine and the wrap was only off for about 15 minutes.
I have only needed to take 1/2 the prescribed pain medication to help with comfort. I have been unable to go to the bathroom since the procedure so I went and got myself a stimulant free laxative to try to help with that. So far the most discomfort over the past 3 days have been my ears and my belly.
Day 4: The yellow bruising spots are already fading back down so I think it is accurate to say that this procedure can be done with very little to no bruising. I have posted a picture for you to see how I have positioned my head wrap to sit in front of my ears to bring them relief. My neck feels sore to the touch and with any quick movements. I am keeping it wrapped 24/7 so its a constant reminder to be gentile. I am no longer taking the pain medication.
I slept through the night last night without the pain medication but woke up in the morning with excruciating belly pain. I have still been unable to go to the bathroom and I have decided to drink lots of water, take a stool softener along with the laxative and eat very little as to not make the stomach pains worsen. Hopefully I can get some relief today. Fingers crossed!

Submental Liposuction on Chin & Neck
Day 1: I just got home from the procedure. I felt safe, calm and comfortable while Doctor Davidson worked on my neck. I was awake the entire time on some pain killers and with local anesthesia injected into my neck. The injections are the most painful part. After that you cannot feel any pain while the suction is removing the fat. I feel great so far. Even with the swelling I can already see that the fat under my chin is gone and my neck is sculpted. I have 2 sutures that will be removed in my post op appointment 7 days from now. I took the week off of work to rest and heal. Not that I think that is necessary but wearing the compression head garment out in public is not really fun because you look ridiculous. The swelling is not as bad as I would have thought. I plant to keep the compression garment on 24/7 for a full 7 days. Then I will continue to wear it at night while I sleep for a few weeks to make sure the healing and contouring continue to progress smoothly.
