I’m 10 months post-op and love my results

Nearly a year ago, I had submental liposuction and buccal fat removal. My doctor took his time explaining the procedure, results, and after care and never pushed me to do anything I didn’t want to do. I opted to do the procedure with only local anesthesia, which was a great option for me. It made my recovery time much shorter, but I wouldn’t recommend it if surgery makes you anxious or squeamish. I was in and out in about 45 minutes. The incision is about half a centimeter right below my chin and cannot be seen or felt unless I’m really dehydrated.

Immediately following the procedure it was pretty easy to see my results, but my face got extremely swollen about six hours later and stayed swollen for about a month. After three months most of the swelling went down, and by seven months my results were pretty stable. At this point, I’m 10 months post-op and love my results.

I had fantastic results, partially due to an excellent doctor and partially because I was a good candidate for these procedures. I carried a lot of fat in my lower face on top of a very small chin and jaw, regardless of weight. I don’t think everyone would have as dramatic results, and this really wouldn’t sculpt your jaw if you don’t have a lot of fat to lose there.
