I had abdomen liposuction with Dr Darrow. I am amazed that a doctor with high reviews and located in such a high-end part of the city was so bad. I was not prepared at all for how things went.
The waiting for the appointments were almost always late. It was extremely hard to get a hold of someone both before and after surgery for questions. It was he day before surgery and no one had contacted me on how to prepare- thank goodness I called them. I leaked blood all over my clothes on the way home and the entire day - they didn’t tell me this was going to happen. If I had know. I would have worn a different outfit since I ended up having to throw it out. They should have told me to buy extra towels and Blankets because I went through so many and had to throw many of them out.
I ended up having an allergic reaction a couple days post surgery, but I could not get in touch with anyone or the doctor because it was the weekend! It was absolutely awful. It felt like ants were crawling in my skin and it red like a sun burn and hurt to even touch. They gave me no number to call in case of emergency! I had no idea what to do and was in absolute misery.
Also, I don’t love how it came out. My hips do not have a great curve because more was taken out by my hip bone. 9 months later I still have scars (not dr Darrow’s fault but I thought scars would be minimal by month 6)
I cannot emphasize enough on how bad patient care was. It was like they only cared when they saw me - almost like an assembly line. They explained what the surgery process would be and if I had questions but that was it. I was in and out so fast.
I have another cosmetic procedure I would like to get but will 100% not be going back to this doctor. I do not recommend at all. And for the record I’m not the only one who feels this way - in the waiting room one day I overheard another patient who had complications and was apparently very upset because the doctor was not helpful with the situation.

I had a close to the same exp.
The nursing staff the second time where horrible. Very rude ( The nurse who did the call ahead is a B) Once I was out of surgery came to ash asked me how long does it take for my ride to come pick me up, She didn't go over with after surgery care, Follow up apt I made myself after I got home , I didn't get a call asking how I was after I got home, ect.

Yes I can completely agree! Hopeful more people post their reviews like ours so people do not have to go through the same experience. We are paying so much money we shouldn’t feel like garbage from them
