Subpar Experience with Average Results
From the time I arrived in Turkey, I experienced issues with the SG clinic.
The communication was slow, and sporadic.
They had previously told me that it was fine for me to go ahead and have a labiaplasty a week before my surgery.
So I booked a week in advanced (before my bbl) and had my labiaplasty with a different surgeon.
Once I was already in Turkey and had undergone my labiaplasty, I messaged them to confirm that the medications I’d been given after the procedure were ok to take. They responded saying it was fine.
The next day, I received a message saying I had gone against doctors wishes and they would need to reschedule the surgery because of the medications I was taking- Which they had given the ok to the day before… I was devastated and shocked as I had screenshots of the conversations where they had advised that it was fine. I was already in Turkey, had spent money on flights and accom and the BBL was THE WHOLE POINT OF MY TRIP. I barely slept that night and almost had a panick attack, as they said I would have to come back next month, which I wouldn’t have been able to do.
I expressed the fact that I had screenshots of them permitting me to go ahead with my labiaplasty, and after a night of utter mental torture while waiting for their slow response (thinking I had somehow screwed up and now my surgery was cancelled) the next day, they contacted me and notified me that surgery was all of a sudden proceeding…
I can’t even begin to describe how unprofessional that is…. The stress that caused me thinking I’d have to reschedule and fly back to Turkey (spending more money) was immeasurable, only to then have them flip back around and say ‘Oh no, it’s fine’. It’s unacceptable to make errors like this when someone has spent so much money and travelled so far.
I was really having doubts about the clinic at this point, as it was hard enough to even book the surgery in the first place with the lack of response from their team, and now this nonsense. His work looked good though, and I was in groups where girls had had surgery with him with not many issues, so I persisted.
I was picked up from my hotel and met Dr Serbulent. He reeked of cigarette smoke and was very cold and not personable, but I didn’t mind too much as a lot of surgeons I’ve met are like this. As long as their work is good, I’m happy.
I had the surgery and once I woke from the anaesthesia, I was face down in a bed. I needed to use the bathroom, and realised I had a catheter in. It didn’t feel right, so I asked if it was in properly and if I could actually just pee where I was. They laughed at my concern and assured me to pee. Well, the next thing I knew I was covered in pee. I was so upset as I knew the catheter wasn’t in properly and was now soaking wet. I contacted my coordinator and told her of the teams mistake, and the fact that I would now need a new faja because I was covered in pee. My coordinator Gigi would not budge and wanted something ridiculous like another £150 for a fresh faja!!! Mind you the faja they give you is a crappy stage one faja and a very bad quality garment at that. Not worth it! So I had to stay in my pissy faja freshly out of surgery and they had no concern with infection etc. They let me stay in my own urine through no fault of my own!
To make matters worse, my coordinator was hounding me for extra money when I was fresh out of surgery (as I had added on thigh lipo during my consult). I quickly calculated how much I had given them, and realised that I did not owe them i cent, I had in fact over paid them! So here was she askinga drivers up patient fresh out of surgery for extra money, when I was actually owed money back. They did come up and return the excess, but it seemed very dodgy. Make sure you triple count what you pay them.
They also directly lied to me about arm compression. I had seen a complaint from a patient saying they just give you cut off compression socks for your arms and not a proper garment. So I asked them if this was true or if they provided a proper garment.
‘No we do not use compression socks for the arms’ was the response. YES, they do. When I woke from surgery, I had no real garment on my arms- Just some crappy compression socks. I had brought my own compression garment because I was worried about this, and they even advised me not to wear it. Really bad advice, and completely deceitful to lie to patients.
Once I had spent my two nights in the hospital, I I was transferred to my hotel. The fact that Serbulent uses this hotel is deplorable. There is no Netflix, which is disgusting considering they know the patients they have put in this hotel have NOTHING to do but recover and rest and need some form of entertainment, AND if you get a speck of blood on the sheets they charge you £250!!! Imagine that! A doctor choosing to send patients who are fresh out of surgery and could very well leak on bedding to a hotel where they will be charged for it! GREEEEED. The beds are also like 10m high!! Hip height for me and I’m 5’7. Not practical at all for liposuction patients who can barely move, to get into. I had to sleep on the fold out couch. It’s clear that very little thought or concern is paid to the needs of patient accommodation.
There were two nurses who come and check up on you while you are in the hotel- One of the days they came to see me I was very emotional and was crying (which is normal after surgery, especially if you are by yourself like I was) and a younger nurse who spoke English decided she would take that as an opportunity to belittle and mock me. In the most condescending tone, she said ‘How old are you? Omgggg. Are you a toddler? Crying like a baby’ I looked at her and said ‘I’m in a foreign country by myself, in pain’ and she said ‘we have many patients from other countries and they don’t behave like this’ I said ‘When you’re in a country 23 hours from your home, where barely anyone speaks English, all alone and in pain from a full body surgery, THEN you can speak’ I was so disgusted. I understand they see patients day in and day out, but compassion is needed when people are vulnerable!
I decided to leave early (4 days out from full body lipo) as I couldn’t handle the boredom- The hotel is basically on a freeway. There is nothing around within walking distance except for a supermarket and maybe a pharmacy (can’t remember). I booked a flight and asked Gigi to please organise my transfers. My departing flight was on a Sunday (a day of very little traffic for Turkey as I was told), and even so I asked for her to book the flight 3 hours beforehand. Nope. She decided I would be dropped off at the airport at 12pm!!! My flight was at 7.25pm!!!!!!!!! I voiced my concerns and said I didn’t want to be standing around an airport for 7 hours with no comfort (I couldn’t sit, I could barely move) and yet she dumped me there and that’s exactly what I had to do before my 23 hour journey, where I also wasn’t able to sit down. I had to walk around an airport in agony, by myself for SEVEN HOURS. This was obviously because she wanted to line up the schedule of the driver to pick up another patient from the airport who was arriving around 12. Save them money and kill two birds with one stone… I have never suffered as much as I did that day and the following on my transit home. I wouldn’t wish what I had to endure on anyone. Completely unnecessary suffering because they wanted to capitalise and drop me off at the same time as someone who was getting picked up. The SG clinic operates on pure greed, and I would not recommend.
The results from the surgery were definitely an improvement, but not great. He left lumpy fat on my stomach, did virtually NOTHING to my arms and thighs (which I had to pay extra for and he refused to refund) and my waist was still not snatched. My butt has also deflated to, I’d say about 20% increased volume from its original state… I’ve heard this is because Turkish surgeons don’t know how to implant the fat properly or something rather.
His aftercare instructions are so rudimentary and he tells you virtually nothing about nutrition and what you should be eating to maintain your results post surgery. You meet him briefly once right before he operates and then again right before you leave.
They also raise their price every couple of months, are unwilling to provide revisions and no discounts to patients who need anything revised.
I honestly would not recommend using this clinic. They are very disorganised and greedy.
