Lip lift - researched and thought about it for 5 years.
I was very hesitant for years. Hesitant of actually going through with it, and perhaps any judgment from family and, I was scared to make the plunge. I researched for many years and made that blessed call to Dr. Philip Solomon's office. I was so nervous. Fast forward, I fly into Toronto and suddenly the day of surgery was here - I was so nervous. I did Ativan and twilight sedation. Although it may have been overkill for some, I knew what I needed. I had some traumatic surgeries in the past going back to childhood, and almost died from a c-section. I knew myself and my limits. Day of, I was treated like a queen. My nurse was so kind and gentle. There was no judgment from my nervousness.
The anesthesiologist sat with me in advance and was very calm and nice. He asked me various questions and assured me everything will go well. Before I knew it, I was walking into the operating room and getting ready. Once the needle hit my arm, I was out. I remember waking up to my very sweet nurse telling me I did well, it's all perfect. What a relief. From that point on I was smooth sailing, mentally.
Approximately 3 hours later, the regular Tylenol would not suffice. I took 1 T3, and then every 4 hours thereafter. This area is very tender and the first night I was in a great deal of pain. Second day is much better. I wouldn't say this is the worst pain I have ever experienced, the medication helps. I walked today without getting my heart rate up and it was pleasant. I am (so far) very happy I did this.
I'll report more as I go.
