Lip lift revision with Dr. Mascaro
WORTH IT
I decided about two years later, maybe a little less, to do a revision and go shorter. As always Dr. M’s staff is beyond incredible. Huge shout out to my girl Lauren! If you ever get the chance to speak with her she is an absolute gem of a women and just so incredibly kind, helpful, uplifting and so on! His nursing staff with me the day of my revision was phenomenal. Steph is just an angel and so kind and hilarious and down to earth. Andrea his other nurse was just beyond incredible and so gentle and kind hearted. They accommodated any little request I had and made me feel at ease. Shout out to Steph for holding my hand for a few minutes because I was nervous for silly reasons she is just the best ever. Dr. M is nothing short of incredible as always. He’s so to the point, he listens and doesn’t make you feel rushed. He meets you half way on anything and will always advise you of the best route. He never makes me feel rushed or unimportant. I 5000% trust him and his opinion and vision for me as his patient. He will never guide anyone in the wrong direction and that is a value that is priceless. I always kind of wanted to go shorter, but due to some life events that took place after my first lip lift and during the healing process it confirmed for me that was the way to go. After life settled down Lauren got me booked and all was smooth sailing from there. Dr. M did a perfect job at my lip lift revision. He knew exactly how short I wanted to go and how much tooth show I was aiming for this go around. My lip lift revision is everything I could of hoped for and more! He absolutely nailed it. This md is one of the best in the game and he was just destined to be this type of surgeon-his craft and skills are unmatched. Lastly, my time in the OR with him, Steph and Andrea was a absolute blast! It truly felt like I was just hanging out with fun friends that I’ve known forever that’s how welcoming this office and his staff are including himself. If you are thinking of booking with him do it you will never ever ever ever regret it!

12 days post op update.
Just a few pics to update its been almost two weeks and I’m super stoked on my lips still. Healing has been super easy and I’m really pleased with the scar you can barely see it. I have had just some minor swelling under my right nostril area these past few days but that’s really it. I had messaged Dr. M to just see if swelling on one side was normal and he was so attentive and kind with his response back, and yes it’s normal. My lips were a little puffy after getting my stitches out for a few days but they’ve settled pretty nicely since. Still highly recommend him and his office, this was hands down one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

So pretty!! Did your nose/nostrils change at all?
Thank you so much! Honestly no. I see a lot of comments in general where people think their nose changed or got distorted and I don't feel that way for me personally. I will say this, I think your nose stays more swollen longer then your lips in general so I think by default that can make your nose appear to maybe change temporarily perhaps until everything is healed. My nose is still kind of stiff and yes a little bigger so you can tell there is still some swelling that needs to come down in general in that area but it has continued to go down each day.

Beautiful! I think those of us who had a very long philtrum (mine was 20 mm) really appreciate the results of this procedure if it's done well. It can make such a difference!

I just booked my surgery date with him he is so busy! It took me six months to get in to see him.My surgery is next year in May...
Next year in May... that's the soonest you can get in for a lip lift?? Geez, he is really sort after and on the radar

Dr. Mascaro is Amazing!
Dr. Mascaro & his team are simply incredible. From the first time I talked with Lauren, to my Skype consult with Dr. Mascaro everything has been wonderful. Shout out to Lauren for keeping in constant contact with me during the beginning of the pandemic, answering all my questions, and just helping me up until I was finally able to book an appointment she’s such a gem! She also reassured me over a phone call a few days prior when I was feeling slightly nervous about being awake during the lip lift and put my mind at ease. I had two consults with Dr. Mascaro and each one was really great. Time had just lapsed and I was due for a second consult to refresh. I love that he’s to the point, let’s you speak as much as you need and ask away, he is super attentive and is just down right real with his answers and doesn’t set you up for false expectations and I love that about him. I also adore his demeanor, he’s a younger dr, he’s not stiff and boring, he super professional but in a refreshing hip type of way. I went into my consult with not wanting to be conservative by any means but not aggressive either, so a middle point. My lips, as you can see, in my before picture we’re flat and long looking. All I really envisioned for myself was the main focus being the middle part of my lip by my Cupid’s bow as that is how I wear my lipstick which gives me a pouty lip look and I feel the most confident and just love that look for me personally. When I went in the day of my surgery and met with Dr. Mascaro he started measuring things out and testing some different heights etc he agreed that with my anatomy I would be a good candidate for a more middle focused lip lift with slight lifting roll out on the outside parts of my lip which made me so happy to hear. After that I went into the OR, his two assistants were awesome and so calming and super sweet ladies, huge shout out to them too! Dr. Mascaro put on some of my choice of music which was rad and he started injections to numb the area. He was very informative during that and it was a breeze after he got started. My end results were exactly what I envisioned, he nailed it 500%. I couldn’t be more thrilled with my lip lift. No pain during or after either everything was just easy and straight forward. I can not recommend this Dr. enough and his office. Everyone is so awesome and so friendly, and he is a master at his craft. Dr. Mascaro instantly made my very large insecurity that I had been dealing with for several years go away over night and restored this confidence I had been hoping to get back. I am absolutely the happiest with my outcome and so happy I chose to have him do my lip lift. I am forever grateful to him!

Hey there! Thank you! Recovery is going great to be honest. My scar honestly after getting the stitches out isn’t visible at all unless you are in my face and even then you can’t barely tell and no it’s not red at all. The worse part of the recovery for me was eating soft food lol it gets boring after day two the rest was such a breeze! No pain barely any swelling but just some in my nose area. So exciting you have a consult coming up with him, he is the best!
Wow!! What a huge difference from before -after. Looks lovely. How much did you measure after he lift. Did you feel that the numbing shots were very painful? How much did you pay for this ? Are you bruised ?
Hi! Thank you so much, it really is a huge difference all together but also a kind of subtle one which I love, but it totally transformed my lips in general. I started at 18 and ended at 13. The shots honestly for the most part were just tiny little pinches and one was a little sharper but nothing to even worry about it was so quick and he is so gentle with them and it numbs you instantly. I am currently not bruised and not swollen around my lips etc but just a tiny bit swollen on the inside area of my nostrils. I had minor bruising the day after and then it went away with in less than a day. I paid 3800.00 for it, but that was current pricing when I scheduled and paid, not sure if that has changed since then.
Will you continue to update us all here on RealSelf? I'd love to see your progress. Those lips are just gorgeous. I can't believe that you didn't think the shots were excruciating?? You must have a high pain tolerance. Lol.
Thank you! And Yes! I actually planned on throwing up some updated pics tomorrow. Lol the needle is so thin in my opinion it’s not a biggie and it didn’t give me a burning sensation at all, I just got really cold for about 2 minutes or so lol.

Ah-MAZING!! It was really a quick and painless surgery resulting in huge results!! It made such a difference in your face!! Just softened it up and made it even more sexy and feminine!!

Ha!! I'm just a follower of his. I live in Chicago and have had a lip lift five years ago with my plastic surgeon near my house. I'm actually scheduled for a revision on February 9 with the same doctor. I just submitted a review explaining why I'm getting a revision. It will be posted in 24 hours. I have numerous:-) reviews here on RS. I'm not a newbie to plastic surgery. Lol
Ohhh super cool!! I see people do revisions I imagine to lift more or if things have dropped over time? And lol! This was my first time in a plastic surgeons office I was more nervous for the procedure then the outcome! I go back in November with him to fix all my piercing holes on the bottom lip from my younger years LOL!
Ha. You look rather young!! I'd imagine you don't frequent plastic surgeons offices too often. :-). Well, your first surgery was a success!! You scored big. I'll let you know when my surgery is posted. I'm sure it will be live by Tuesday.
