Lip lift with Dr. Mascaró

After 7 years of thinking about doing this procedure I finally got the courage to do it! I chose Dr. Mascaró mostly based on his reviews & photos on realself and because how smoothly they arranged me the consultation. I sent an inquiry on his website and Dr. Mascaró himself answered me literally a couple of hours (!) later answering all my questions. I also contacted one Dr. in Beverly Hills but from their answer I knew right away that I would choose Dr. Mascaró. So we had a skype consultation -I had literally stalked everything about his lip lifts on Realself and insta (haha) but I still had some questions which he answered detailed and professionally.
Okay now the PROCEDURE it self. I was so nervous (flying from another side of the world and having my face operated based on some reviews on the internet.. ????) but after all it was quite easy for what I had excepted. The stuff were kind and assisted me from room to another smoothly and told me what was going on. Only thing was that English is only a 4th language for me and they talked so fast and with US dialect so I had struggles understanding them and that made me a bit nervous but otherwise everything went great.
Okay so when it was time for the procedure they put music on, warm socks and a planket -so comfy! :) For anyone being afraid of the numbings -no need to. Dr. Mascaró walked me through them so easily. Really the pain was like 1 or 2 on a scale 0-10. It’s just uncomfortable but it’s over fast. The procedure was nothing -just lying there, listening to music and relaxing. Sure it was a bit gross thinking what was happening on my lip but just concentrating on the music helps for that.
So then the RESULTS. The incision is very very fine -well, just like in the photos of his patients you see on real self. He did extremely good work and he definitely earns the titles ”guru” and ”magician” people have given him here! :D There’s a little bit bruising and swelling but it’s less than I had expected. Also atm I have a _slight_ “bunny look” which they warned me beforehand -it is because of the swelling and it will fade away. So far I like the result and after the healing I think I’m gonna love it!
I went very conservative. He said that the most conservative result he would suggest for me would be -4,5mm change but I was even more conservative and said -4mm. My philtrum is long (19mm) and I know that if I took off a little more it would be more beautiful on the ”beauty standards”. I think a short philtrum and pouty lips are beautiful but I was not born with them and I’ve accepted it. :-)
The goal for me was to have a little modification to the porpotions and still look natural and myself. It might be that some day I regret for not taking off more, but it’s easier to live with that than to live with constantly regretting taking off too much! I appreciate that Dr. Mascaró listened to me and understood what I was looking for.
So I would really recommend Dr. Mascaró for a lip lift. I will definitely travel all the way back to him if I need any procedures in the future. Also his staff is very professional and kind and I have absolutely nothing to complain about! :)
