8 Month Update (Likely last post!)
WORTH IT$7,800
Hello All,
I am at the 8 month mark now, and today I'm going to see Dr. Talei for what I guess will be the last follow up. The last few follow ups he has lasered my incision (which is now basically invisible). He has also given me a couple of the steroid shots to address the muscle hardening I had in my first 4 months. Today we will do Before & After pics and I think that will be it! I have no further concerns at this point, and his post care has been very comprehensive and I'm appreciative.
I have added a few photos as of today. I'm happy with my results, and although it was a long recovery process (about 4 months total til I felt completely normal), it was worth it for me! :)

7 Month Update - Lip Lift
Made it to seven months! Not much to report...except to encourage those patients of Dr. Talei's that the results do continue to improve over the first year, just like he says. You will look great long before then, but as swelling diminishes and the incision disappears, the overall look keeps getting better & better. If you're at the beginning of your recovery, hang in there!
(I've had a little filler in my smile lines in the "after" photo, but NOTHING done to my lips except the lift.) :)

Chasing.daylight - Thank you! I definitely write the review that I would like to read. Or that I wish I could've read before I did it. I'm glad it's helpful. XOXO

Hi! Thank you so much for sharing your journey! I am 3 weeks post lip lift, and find your posts so encouraging. I am sort of happy with my lift, though at 3 weeks, I feel my nose is distorted, nostrils enlarged, and I don't see myself at all in the mirror. Hubs and my mom say I look the same, but with a larger upper lift. Still, to me, I look like a totally different person. So, viewing your changes gives me hope and calms me. I know I still have a long way to go with healing. You look gorgeous, and thanks so much for sharing!!

Hi JillS,
I know exactly what you mean! I didn't feel that I looked like myself for a few months (or more). It's a "small change", but it really makes a difference on the balance of our face and how everything is laid out. It's a long healing process, but hang in there! It really does get better and better each week! :)

6 Month Update - Lip Lift
Made it to 6 months! The results definitely keep getting better over time, just like Dr. Talei said they would prior to my procedure. Healing happens gradually over the first year, and I've seen improvements each month.
I had my 6 month check up in December. Dr. Talei did laser on my incision/scar again (third time). Although I think it looks great and pretty faded, he insists that it can be even better. He also put two dots of botox below my lip because he said my lips naturally "frown". I never noticed it, but if he wants to try to improve me even more, I'll take it! :)
As I've stated many times, the recovery for this procedure isn't an easy one, however, Dr. Talei is the best man for the job and he will be sure to take care of any issues that arise along the way!

Perfect. Not overdone and it suits you. You look 10 years younger.

Ummm....
You look incredible! Absolutely amazing!! I'm on day 5 and it's crazy what my face still looks like but I trust my doctor and I'm remembering to trust the process! Thank you for your in depth review, I've enjoyed your journey

Thank you for your kind words, laur buch! I hope your healing is going well. Those first few weeks are nuts! Hang in there!

I love the way you look. It tooks 15 years off. And you look much prettier. Congrats. Did you do any other procedures?

Just bumped into your review. I must admit my initial reaction to your photos was "oh no, what have you done to yourself". Then I got to the latest updates, and WOW! The end result is amazing, scar looks great and you truly do look 15 years younger. Great decision :)

Haha! Trust me, Marie, that was my initial reaction as well!! :D Thank goodness for my doctor's reputation; I knew it would be better in the end. But dang, the recovery for this procedure is NO joke. If someone plans to do it, they have to be okay with looking wacky for a good few months before the good stuff settles in.

I've also had my lip lift two days ago. I'm worried because I can't close my mouth right now. I noticed that you had the same problem in the beginning. Where does that come from? I'm so scared it won't go away.
You will be able to close your mouth soon, trust me! But it does take a few weeks. Makes eating & drinking awkward as well. :) But it improves with time! You'll continue to see improvement each week over a good 3 month period.
I started with 20 mm. He took 9 mm, and I'm left with 11 mm. :) How about you?
I started with 17 mm and he took away 6-7 mm, so I should also be left with about 11 mm. That's great. :) Your philtrum length looks perfect to me, so when I'll have the same distance, I'm very happy with it! :) But at the moment you can't see anything due to the swelling. I have to be patient. :) My surgeon also cut the muscle, so I think healing takes longer than usual as you've already mentioned in your earlier posts.
