22 yr old travels for Upper Lip Lift

This morning-- 5 days after I got my Lip Lift-- I found a letter I wrote to "my future self" in 8th grade theology class. It was a guided assignment where we were supposed to write our hopes for the future and I wrote- "become a doctor and have a bigger upper lip". Well one came true- what a funny coincidence!
I've been researching/dreaming of fillers/upper lip lifts since I first started getting teased for my small mouth in Jr. High.
I'm 22 now and have been getting juvederm fillers for two years but wasn't satisfied. Considering how extremely particular I am when it comes to my appearance I wasn't going to get an Upper Lip Lift unless I had complete confidence in the doctor I chose. It took me two years on realself to find. Dr. Talei and I'm so thankful that I did! His website showcases many before & after patient photos that are absolute perfection and has a youtube channel with several patient testimonial videos that are so comforting and reassuring. Flying from Minneapolis to Los Angeles and spending $5,400 to get a lip lift by Dr. Talei is one of the best decisions I've made.

My procedure was early Monday morning and relaxed. Dr. Talei marked where he would make the excision and explained to me what to expect through the procedure and the results. He then injected some local anesthesia and after about 40 minutes of cutting and stitching it was all over. Dr. Talei was very kind and confident and made my experience comfortable and enjoyable.

Oh wow!! You look awesome!! I'm getting mine done in June with Dr. Talei and was worried about looking presentable after 8 weeks. So you think you'll be able to smile and move normally for sure by that amount of time?

Thanks! Yay! You'll be so happy with him. Yes, with the way I've been healing I definitely think that I'll be smiling and feeling completely normal by 8 weeks.

Dr. Talei usually takes out the stitches after 4/5 days but I flew home the day after to save money on travel expenses. A family friend of mine is a plastic surgeon so she was able to take half the stitches out on day 4 (Friday) and will be taking the other half out on day 7 (Monday).
My entire face was swollen (mouth, cheeks, and nose) but the swelling has already started to go down.
