First Time Lip Injection and 5 Year Postop Rhinoplasty Update

It’s been a while since I’ve posted any updates here. Today I decided to get lip injections to plump up my thinning lips and realized it’s been 5 years since I gave an update on my rhinoplasty surgery. Wow how time flies!

So far the swelling of my lips is manageable but a few hours after the procedure and they are pretty sore. I’m going to ice them for a bit. Directly after the procedure the doctor showed me in a mirror and my lips looked perfect. I’m excited to see how they turn out once the swelling goes down.

As for my nose...still looks the same as 5 years ago! I’m happy with the results overall. Still glad I had the correction surgery done a year after the first one. Looking back I would’ve been unhappy if I’d left it with the scar tissue bump. I’d do it all over again. 

I know it may seem like I’m never happy but it’s funny how once you fix one thing other things start to bother you more. My neck has been on my mind for a couple of years now and I’ve been researching procedures. I’ve decided to do thermi-tight in a couple of weeks. I’ll post before and after pics doe anyone interested then too.

Stay happy and healthy out there! I’ll post an update on my lips in a few days. I had 1 syringe of juvederm vobella today. I bought a second syringe in case I want to touch them up later.

Day one evening and overnight was the worst of the swelling. I woke up about 2 AM and couldn’t get back to sleep for a while because it was pretty uncomfortable. Morning of day 2 I felt like the swelling had not gone down at all, so I pretty much stayed in bed all day watching TV and icing my lips off and on all day. I’ve also been using Arnica gel on my lips and around my mouth to help reduce swelling and bruising. I think that has been helpful. I’m not sure if it’s the right thing to do, but I’ve also been using Aquaphor on my lips to keep them moist. Today is day 3 and I feel like almost all of the swelling is gone, I have a bruise around the right side of my mouth where the injections were however not bad overall. I have to work tomorrow and have no issue going on video with a little makeup to cover the bruise. I think I’m going to really like the final results. I feel like the worst of the swelling has passed. I now understand why people say they go back and get a little bit more injected after the initial session because Day 3 I don’t feel like they look a whole lot different than they did before. I still like the final results though, I wanted a natural look with just a little bit more fullness, and I believe that is what I have now. I’ve been told to wait until two weeks after for the final results, so I will post an update then. Hope someone has found this helpful.
