V Line, Revision Rhinoplasty, Neck Lift, Pixie Ear Fix
WORTH IT$16,000
I'm a white female, 44 years old, living near Chicago. I had my first rhinoplasty done in 2008 in Denver, Colorado, where the screw up started. I was still breathing the same, but I couldn't get rid of the pressure feeling in my upper jaw area, so I had a consultation with Beverly Hills doctors. They said the dr in Denver removed too much cartilage. They had a option of using the donor's cartilage and I had my revision with them for 12k few years later. The feeling of pressure was gone, but I stopped breathing with the right nostril. Went to the consultation with two more doctors after hearing that the same last doctor cannot fix my breathing. The other dr said he can fix my breathing maybe 40%. The third dr said he can fix 100% and he will need to use my own rib. I would have gone with that doctor, he is amazing, but I didn't have 56k laying around, so I was still looking. I had a consultation with dr in NY who has great reviews, we almost booked the surgery and on the day of the pre op, he literally said there is nothing wrong with my nose and sent me home. His assistant was surprised as well. I was already immuned to the egocentric tendencies of the medical geniuses. I kept looking because I just hated having to breathe with my mouth in a hot weather. The only doctor in the US who told me, after taking an an xray that I have a deviated septum was that very expensive genius. I'm thankful to him for that. Meanwhile, I wanted to fix my chin and I kept looking at those gorgeous before and after photos and videos people get in Korea. I found Dr Yoo with 30 year experience and had v line done, along with revision rhinoplasty and repair deviated septum, neck lift, and pixie ear repair from a previous mini lift. I paid 16,000 for everything. Dr. Yoo used silicon instead of the rib because he said the rib makes bridge higher and mine is already high itself. I'm 8 days post op and I can breathe with the nostril that I wasn't able to for the past few years, after my previous surgery in Beverly Hills. Don't get me wrong, Bevery Hills knows how to do many things, I just wasn't their patient. Everyone is different. I'm waiting for the swelling to go away. I specifically booked the stay for three weeks to recover as much as possible. The nice room is 3 minutes walking distance from the dr. The Starbucks and a healthy food shop is every 20 every feet. If you need an extra tshirt, the clothing shop is near McDonald's, across the street. They have Uber, but I never had to use it yet.
Dr Yoo looked at me at my first and the second post ops. The staff feels genuinely caring and highly trained. Make sure have your unlimited data with international phone plan because the TV has everything in Korean and Pandora radio doesn't play in Korea. I watch amazon prime videos and YouTube here. The nice room for three weeks cost me 2k. I paid 2k for two weeks in LA near airport and it wasn't the greatest or a safest area. Yes, it's okay to come by yourself. They take care of you the first night at the clinic. Bring your pills for the post op nausea just in case.

Day 8 post op, the well-hidden scar
All scars are well hidden. The ears are fixed permanently. There is a lot of swelling: the ears, the neck, the face, but it's going down. Pitangui PS Dr. Yoo uses high tech drainage that, while you're overnight, which doesn't require manual emptying like in the US. If it wasn't for that machine, my swelling would have been way worse.

13 day after the surgery
I'm still very swollen and the bottom lip feels sore today. The bruising is not noticable. Today earlier, they removed the sutures behind the ears. The rest were dissolvable. I want to thank these young well-trained staff who speak great English, a perfect addition to the 30 year long doctor's experience. Together they rock: Sara handles all the scheduling and organization and your prior to the surgery meeting with Dr. Yoo. Debora is your guide to your successful recovery. Gue Hee will assist to your surgery and stay with you overnight. Ye Jin is your another guardian angel at the clinic until you check out.

You look amazing especially for just 13 days post op! (The first picture looks incredibly painful). Did you have any difficulty going to a different country? I know you it can be daunting but I’d love to have my revision done in Korea xx

Thank you for your kind word! Yes.. going alone to the country I don't speak any local language, no English channels on TV, no Uber, and the food tastes different, that's the most difficult part. I was mentally preparing myself for years. Just rhinoplasty revision will not cost more than 6.5k. The first difficulty was figuring out how to make deposit. My deposit was $750 I made it through PayPal as to friends and family. PayPal charges fees, but so does Western Union. The doctor's bank is Bank of America. I should have gone there because I have it too and made a transfer, but I was too busy with work.
Another hard part is being away from my son. Thankfully, he is 22, all grownup, but still..
Take items you can't live without to avoid looking for them in Seoul. I'm glad I brought with me small scissors to open any food wrap, etc, pills for nausea and just in case a few pills for anxiety that was prescribed by my physician.
Be prepared they don't sell much dairies.
Also, I had to switch my work phone to at&t to use that instead of personal phone because my personal phone cannot be unlocked yet, too new. Make sure to go to a special phone shop where they unlock phones. The unlocking apps are ripoffs. It took about an hour and a half for the professional to unlock my old galaxy S 8, in Chicago area. At first, they offered for me to schedule an appointment and to leave my phone, but I was lucky they changed their mind when I said I can't do that and just waited them to be done at the shop.
I had to make sure my credit and check cards will allow transactions. You have to have your bank app, email, and the text of the phone you use for your banking working in the country you're going. I didn't bring any cash with me, only cards. Notify your bank about traveling.
Leave all electrical devices at home. For your phone charger, LEX Hotel will borrow you an adapter for the deposit. Don't lose your electronic card room key because it costs to replace it.
If I can think of anything else, I'll let you know and I'll be happy to answer any questions.

Thank you for all the info!!! You look fantastic! I’m still surgeon shopping for a face/neck lift and revision rhinoplasty and I am considering going to Seoul.

Thank so much, that was really informative! I’m surprised how cheap revision rhinoplasty is compared to the uk. I’m considering Korea because I reckon they will be better at augmentation of the nose as it’s more commonly requested there Lol I shocked when you said your son is 22!! You look like your in your early 20s! Hope the rest of your recovery goes well beaut xx

Thank you so much, yes, much cheaper there. I saved at least 20k on going there, but also, they're the best in making look everything very natural. Thank you for your compliment, you're very kind. I'll be 45 in April. Who said we can't restart our lives in 45? Lol I wish you the best in your future plans and will be happy to answer any questions.

On my certificate of citizenship only because I destroyed the rest. I'm 48 now. I had a story to tell about my trips to Turkey for lipo this year. I'll post it when I get back.

Thank you! Actually, I've been thinking about posting a picture 1 year post op with the picture that contains before any surgeries and now. I don't keep old selfies, but I still have all my old IDs and it will be fun to see the difference. If I feel my recovery completed by April, I'll definitely post my 45th birthday picture.
