Life changing lip lift with Dr. Mascaro

WORTH IT
I had a lip lift seven weeks ago with Dr. Mascaro. My situation was different than most people who post on this site. I went to see Dr. Mascaró about a lip disfigurement. Prior to my surgery, I couldn’t move my top lip enough to smile properly and I could barely show any teeth, even when I spoke. I hoped that the lip lift would allow me to move my lip a bit more naturally. I kept my expectations pretty low - I didn’t expect to have a nice smile afterwards, but I hoped for some improvement.
Dr. Mascaro is truly amazing! Within a few hours after my surgery I could actually move my lips like I’ve never done before. The surgery was painless, and the result is fantastic. Dr. Mascaro told me to try not to smile too much or overuse my mouth while I’m recovering, and that’s been the toughest part, because I’m very happy!
I wish I had more “before” photos to share with you, but I barely have any photos of myself pre-op. I totally avoided being photographed.
I’m very grateful to Dr. Mascaro. He’s incredibly talented. He’s also very kind, gentle, humble, genuine and compassionate.

Thank you!!! I totally love it! Dr. M is truly a miracle worker. It feels very natural. I’ve received a ton of compliments on my smile over the past month, and how happy I look. This is totally new for me. People used to think I was unfriendly because I didn’t smile. They didn’t know that I couldn’t (when I tried, it looked weird and very forced). I’m still getting used to it, but I smile all day. It’s the biggest gift. Thank you again!!!

Wow you look beautiful!! Do you mind me asking you why you could not move your top lip before your surgery. I have the same problem, but it is because I had complications from a previous lip lift that involved the muscle.
Thank you Sarah! That means a lot. I’m sorry to hear about your lip. I know how frustrating it is. Most people have no clue what it’s like not to be able to smile. I had some facial trauma when I was young. I saw a plastic surgeon in my early twenties who improved it. With age, it worsened. I don’t know if your lip is like mine, but mine was so bad that people constantly stared at my mouth to try to figure out what the heck was wrong with it/me. So I looked for a doctor that specializes in lips and that’s how I found Dr. Moscarò. I had almost given up. He was really honest and told me it was going to be a bit of a challenge, but I had faith in his skills, and it was totally worth it. I’m just sorry I waited so long.
How many millimeters did he remove? How short is your philtrum now?
Hi, I’m so sorry. I never asked that. All I wanted was to have it improved. I told him I trusted his judgement when I had my pre-op appointment & surgery. How do you measure this? From the Cupid’s bow?
Yeah you measure it from right under your nose to the middle of your cupid bow (the deepest part).
I measured & it looks like it’s about 12mm right now.
