I had my first BA by choice in February 2000. I was 36yrs. old, at 5'8, in a size 8. I went in a 36B came out a 36D, had asked for a C-cup. I looked stacked. My mentor smooth round saline implants were place sub-pectoral, (under muscle). They looked picture perfect after they settled. It felt like I was hit by a Lincoln doing 40 mph & lived through it! It hurt like a 12 on a scale of 1 to 10! The first couple of showers felt like I was a patient in a burn-unit! Those poor boobs felt like someone had taken a thick wet washcloth & had scrubbed them raw with ajax instead of soap. Each day that passed I would wonder if my breast meat wasgoing to split wide open? Finally after about 3 weeks they started to start to calm down.
I had to sleep sitting up in a lazy boy for three months for I couldn't lie down due to pressure type raw pain. I slowly got to lay flat on my back at about 9 months. Four years & four months later I went to shower for work & was mortified by the shock of seeing my left breast 100% deflated looking back at me in the mirror. Let me say I didn't even know it till I had seen it. It didn't hurt, it didn't make me sick, thank GOD. So I phoned Dr. Thompson's office & was back under the knife three (unplanned surgery) days later. That was May of 2004. Doctor replaced both implants with mentor smooth saline into original pockets. Fast forward to 2010 I noticed implants were harder & felt not like a part of me, they felt uncomfortable & fake! (Because they're FAKE) LOL. I got to having this saying," I don't care if they tape my nipples to my ass cheeks as long as I'm healthy!" I said that for at least 3 plus years!

Well shopped the docs & boy was that a ride! I had a $50.00 consultation with a woman PS whom said, " I can remove those(implants) right here in the office for another $750.00, for a total of $800.00." She said, she would cut an incision under breast (original scar) puncture implant, pull it out sew it up" WTF!? Next man PS acted real personable looked at breasts, took photos, ordered several tests (at my expense) EKG, complete blood draw up, & a order for a mammogram. Set a surgery date April 18th 2013. This yahoo calls me & says he's not doing the surgery no money had been exchanged yet. I asked why not? He just said that's it & hung up on me. WTF!? I went & picked up my two of the three tests I had took the time to go get, paid for drove to & from to. When I got there the girl behind the front desk say's if you were to talk to him maybe he would change his mind. I told her no thanks I wouldn't ever consider his services for how he treats his patients. His price quote before the berserk behavior $3280.00 without capsulectomy, or post surgery bra! (I was to supply it) His office had put together a 20 page instructions & information packet that was bound even with my name, the procedure, price quote, phone #'s. Like I said berserk!? So back to the original surgeon. I had went to Dr. Thompson actually before the other two PS's & Dr. Thompson asked, "What will your husband think of those being a smaller size?" WTF!? What a turn off,13 years ago I was not even married to my husband & had paid MY cash for that surgery! It had me going around town wasting my time on two idiot doctors whom I'd not recommend! That did'nt even count about four or five other phone calls to PS's offices who didn't do explanations. I even emailed the doctor whom wrote the book, "The naked truth about breast implants" Dr. Susan Kolb in Atlanta, GA! That quote was $8,000.00 to $10,000.00 not counting airfare or accommodations! Too much $! So back to Dr. Thompson. The last time I saw him was at a consult for a price on explantatian & a capsolectomy. He made the statement that a capsulectomy was a bloody surgery. I said aren't most surgery bloody. He asked," Who told you you needed a capsulectomy?" I said I wasn't there to argue with him either he could do the surgery or not. He said, Laura will give you a quote. Got the quote from his front desk.Went home called & said give me a date for surgery. I arrived at 11:30A& was under before noon & out the door by 2:20P! Never saw the doctor himself, but the surgical bra was included! And I kept those damn implants they sent me home with a darling lil lands end bucket tote with post-op paper implants & extra gause. I have a aftercare appointment next Thursday April 9th. Wonder if the doctor is coming to that appointment himself?

1st follow up appointment removal of stiches

I arrived on time for my noon appointment, the husband drove. I was seen by the surgeons nurse whom is also his wife. Her name is Mary she's quite nice, very sweet lady she looked everything over & removed the stitches. The right side had me yelp out loud but it was a quick short lived pain kinda like pulling off a big band-aid.! Next the left it was less of a noise, like a small band-aid. She told me to put aquaphor on with a 3 by 3 under breast for further healing & to promote less friction & less scar. I had one spot of a small open wound ( like a cigerette burn for a visual) she said if that wasn't healing in a week to come back. I left feeling good about the appointment.

Dr.Thompson is an excellent plastic & reconstruction surgeon. He is not a conversationalist. No personality or small talk. But he is a outstanding surgeon who does pristine work. I paid for his skills & would recommend him. I've had three breast surgerys that have all been a successful outcome.
