Third and Final Rhinoplasty - Leicester, GB

Having undergone two failed Rhinoplasty procedures as a teenager, I was apprehensive regarding the prospect of a positive outcome from a tertiary rhinoplasty . Which, in addition to being more complicated,also carries the increased risk of complications regarding scar tissue. The surgeon who performed my primary and secondary rhinoplasty's unsuccessfully, offered me a third rhinoplasty, albeit nervously , warning me that my nose could look even worse afterwards. As a result, I lost all faith in him and was reluctant to consider a tertiary rhinoplasty, believing I would be stuck with the crooked and uneven nose that had been created.
Nevertheless, the poor results from the prior procedures urged me to consider my options and express my dissatisfaction to the hospital in which I received it under . To be fair, the hospital handled the whole issue excellently, they were highly understanding and after an evaluation agreed to a third surgery free of charge.
I selected Mr Anil Banerjee, an experienced ENT surgeon who solely focuses on ears and noses. In contrast, he was confident and at the conclusion of my first consultation, I was left reassured that I wouldn't have to live with it, that a third and final rhinoplasty would be beneficial. Mr Banerjee is skilled,honest and realistic. I was made aware of all risks associated with the procedure, he clearly explained the techniques that would be applied and produced a visual example of how the nose would look. The previous surgeon had removed too much cartilage which left a crooked nasal bridge and profile. It was explained to me that I would need to have my nose broken again - to remove the bump and a spreader graft (harvested from my septum or ear) inserted, which would smooth the bridge and create a smooth contour as well as a nice profile.He explained that a good 30% of his patients were revisions (not previously operated on by himself). His expertise was clear and I left feeling hopeful for the first time since this escapade began.

On the day of the surgery, both Dr Banerjee and the anaesthetist visited me. Mr Banerjee once again went over the procedure and prepared me for the whole experience. He told me that I wouldn't be all bruised and swollen (I didn't resemble a human on my previous two). I remember waking up in the recovery room and Dr Banerjee came down to tell me that everything went well - he showed my mum recovery room photos which she said looked great.

All in all the first week went very well, my face was not swollen apart from my top lip and nose and I had no bruising. He put Vaseline around the dissolvable packing and I experienced no pain. After 7 days the cast was removed and I got rather emotional, I think this was due to in part the fact that I anticipated a big swollen mess/ the worst. In fact, the nose was swollen, but much less than before and It already looked presentable.

I am two weeks post op and very happy with the results, my profile is straight and feminine and thus far, the front of my nose is smooth and has a contour that had been previously lost :)

I am so happy with the results thus far, my nose is now in proportion with my face and looks normal and natural again :)

I am over the moon with the results.
