Perfect Treatment with Voluma and Dr. Bortnick. Leawood, KS

I had always heard of Dr. Bortnick as he had always been the name that would come up first when the subject of plastic surgery would come up. So, when I decided I was finally ready to address the deep wrinkles on each side of my nose and mouth (nasal labial folds) I decided to see Dr. Bortnick for a consult and possible treatment. Am I glad I did! First of all, his nurses were darling and so professional. When he came in and met with me, after a few minutes of small talk, he got straight to explaining to me the benefits of filler, what filler can and cannot do, reasonable expectations, potential side effects; any questions I had going into the appointment, he addressed them before I even asked. He then carefully pointed out the areas where he would inject to give my face a lift by adding volume. It was not as easy as just 'filling in the wrinkles,' it was a real art and he definitely had the eye to recognize how I could get the desired look but not look like I had seen a plastic surgeon. THIS WAS EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED! Once my questions had been answered, he got to work. The injections did sting a little when the needle was initially entering the skin but the pain quickly subsided because of the numbing medicine that is mixed with the hyaluronic filler. (I would rate the pain as a 4 on a 10 point scale. It was not bad at all.) Once he had done one side of my face (while his nurse noted the injection sites and the amount injected) he handed me a mirror so I could see the difference. WOW! I was amazed how this simple procedure could provide such a HUGE improvement in the overall look of my face! I looked totally refreshed and not over done, at all. Once he finished the other side, he gave me ice to keep on the injection sites. I had no bleeding and no bruising either. In fact, I went back to work and did not feel at all self conscious that my coworkers would notice that my doctors appointment had been with a plastic surgeon. ; ) I am beyond thrilled with the results and I can highly recommend Dr. Bortnick if you are considering this procedure. I love when I look in the mirror and see a refreshed version of myself. I look like a 'happier' version of myself and not like someone who has had too much face-work. Dr. Bortnick and his entire staff were wonderful and I will do this again once I need it. Loved it...and him, too!
