12/02/15 - Pre-Op Appt. w/ Dr. Yates

At the appointment today we started with sizers again for the benefit of my husband. As a result of this and the subsequent discussion with Dr. Yates, we slightly modified our selection. We ordered INSPIRA Smooth Round Gel Implants, Moderate Profile, 13.00cm Diameter, 4.3cm Projection, 375cc Volume. Dr. Y kindly simulated this new implant on the computer for us to compare. The difference between the 360cc and 375cc result was minimal, and put my mind at ease. Afterward, I read and signed the informed consent document. The nurse walked us through the pre-op (and a few post-op) instructions. I received four prescriptions cephalexin (an antibiotic), zofran (nausea medicine), percocet (pain medication), and valium (muscle relaxant) to be filled and brought to surgery. Upon finishing the appointment, I paid the full balance of $5,700 ($200 discount for paying cash).

You are going to look fab! My surgery was two days ago and things are going great. Aren't they so wonderful at that office? Lindsey has been my saving grace answering my tedium of questions happily. Let me know if you have any questions I can answer based on my experience.

12/07/15 - Preparation
SLCMamaDecember 8, 2015
This afternoon, the patient coordinator called to confirm my procedure time for tomorrow. I go NPO (can't eat or drink non-clear fluids) at midnight. I should arrive at the office by 9:15AM. My surgery is at 10:00AM. The procedure should take at most an hour. Then I should plan to be in recovery from 11:00AM until about noon, at which point I can leave with someone to drive me home.
Also, I am to bring the 4 prescriptions (antibiotics, muscle relaxer, nausea and pain meds) that were filled in advance, and wear a zip front top, no contact lenses.
In preparation for tomorrow I purchased/gathered the following:
bottled water
powerade
ginger ale
saltine crackers
soups
ensure & protein shakes
tissues
lots of pillows (incl. wedge pillow)
arnica montana
cocoa butter
colace stool softener
fiber
6 flexible gel ice packs
zip-up sportsbra (34C)
zip-up hoodie (optimistically size M)
barf bucket for car
bendy straws
silicone scar sheets
antibacterial body wash
I've been applying cocoa butter, taking arnica and stool softener, and hydrating in advance of my surgery in an attempt to reduce stretch marks, bruising, and discomfort afterward.
I anticipate a post-op cup size of approximately 34C. I will be happy smaller or bigger as long as my breasts appear more youthful again. My biggest hope is that I heal easily and quickly.

Oh my goodness! Good luck! I can't wait to see your results.

I hope to get surgery pics like you did. :) Our child care fell through, so my husband will be with our 2 youngest at the classic fun center near Yates' office while I am in surgery. Somehow, I am most worried about that. ;)

I barely remember anything from this afternoon. I am starting to feel more with it. The bottoms of my breasts are very bruised. I am not looking forward to the next week.
