Five Stars!!! My MD did not have an opinion on...
WORTH IT
Five Stars!!! My MD did not have an opinion on using silicone strips after my surgery but I decided I would use them and bought the brand ‘Scar Away’. I didn’t notice a difference after two weeks. After seeing an advertisement for Embrace Scar Therapy, I called the company and was lucky enough to speak to a sales representative who sent samples to my MD. What a difference these made! Even my MD was astonished and is now going to start recommending Embrace. From the minute I put the first Embrace strip on, I felt a very slight tugging feeling as though it were holding me in- that gave me a feeling of comfort much like a binder or girdle does. These stayed put and did not 'lift' up at all--the adhesive sticks well, but is also easy to remove. (The other brand never stayed on well.) I did get mine as a sample from my MD so I didn’t pay for them, but if I have surgery again, I will definitely pay the price for these and highly recommend them.

Hi! Your scars look great :) I just had a breast reduction done January 4th. I have been looking in to different scar creams to purchase as I will have to start applying as soon as the tape comes off my stitches in the next week or so. I have the same anchor scar as you do. Embrace is obviously very expensive (for a breast reduction it is 3 payments of $239) so i am hesitant to jump right in and purchase it if it does not work. How are your results over all now would you say and would you honestly say that $700+ is worth the results you got from their product? Or do you think some of the results could have been achieved naturally as the skin heals? I know they say it is best to start scar cream asap but I do not want to be impulsive on a product that is not worth it. Thanks so much I really appreciate it :)
Hi! Congrats on your surgery--it feels great to finally have surgery that you have wanted for years, doesn't it? Anyway, my photos aren't posted (yet). As a 35th wedding anniversary gift my husband treated me to a tummy tuck--after gaining 40lbs for each of my daughters, I had been begging for one! I used Embrace strips for 6wks after using ScarAway for the first month after surgery. I noticed a big difference--so much so that I ended up purchasing more. (I received the first batch as samples from my MD.) They worked great, but I did want the scar to fade even a little more so I decided it was worth the expense to buy Embrace to continue treatment longer. I've now had the patches on for a week (after not using them for a month) and I can already see that the color of the scar is fading. I do not heal well and formed keloids c-sections for each of my daughters (2). Those c-sections scars were cut out with the tummy tuck and I have not formed any keloids while using Embrace. I probably would not have needed a second round of Embrace if I had begun treatment with them right after my surgery. I feel that Embrace IS worth the price, because I did purchase more even though I may not have needed them, but I wanted the least scarring possible. I know my skin would not have healed as well without using Embrace, because it didn't after my c-sections. I hope this helps you. It is a lot of money, but the results are worth it. Good luck with your recovery!!
Hi!! Thanks so much for your fast reply. This was SO helpful. Congrats on your surgery! I do know how that feels- I'm 5 ft and had 32E breasts so this couldn't have come sooner! The only question I have- do you have to keep the strips on 24/7 for the 8 weeks? As in sleep, wear clothes & shower with them on? I am curious only because that is quite the commitment and for breast scars They are both horizontal and vertical so basically it would look like my breasts were covered in plastic for 2 months.
Thanks so much again for replying, good luck with your continuous recovery, TT can be such a beautiful thing!
Yes, you do keep the Embrace strips on 24/7. I was happy that you were suppose to keep them on and extremely pleased that they actually stayed on. It was a nuisance with the other product because you had to take them off when you showered and they never stuck well either. Embrace really adheres well. I got 10-11 days with them each time. If you do decide to purchase them, I'll give you a hint: the instructions tell you to press between each of the vertical lines to make sure you are getting a good amount of pressure on the adhesive to the strip adheres. I found it best to use the back of my thumb nail. When I did that, I felt like I could apply more pressure and mine really stayed on even after showering, working out, sweating, etc. I know you feel as though your breasts will be covered in plastic, but I found it comforting because I felt like my scars and my incision were protected. Thanks for your well wishes and best of luck to you, too! PS Contact Embrace to ask about the video that demonstrates how to apply the Embrace patch--it's very helpful . Initially I watched the wrong one and was directed to
the correct one by a customer service representative. They actually emailed me the link.

Are they thick or can they be easily hidden under a light shirt? In pictures I saw they looked very bulky and did not look comfortable. I am really looking forward to wearing shirts without a bra and don't want it to be visible :( is it not effective if you take them off st certain times? Like if I took it off for a night and put it back on the next day etc. sorry for all the questions! They are quite the investment so I want it to be sure and ask everything before I buy them :)
They are not thick at all--I'd say they'd be the thickness of three strips of packing tape taped together. You def don't want to take them off until the 10 days or so. There is a 'tear strip' that you pull off during the application process. It's tough to explain how you apply them. I'd really recommend that you watch the video--it'll help more than me trying to put it into words. I'm sure you are anxious to go braless after your surgery, but these strips should not be taken off and reapplied--you'll ruin their adhesiveness. I'm not sure how noticeable they would be under a shirt while being braless. That may be a question for the company. But, if you don't think you can go for 8wks wearing them 24/7, I'd suggest that you not purchase them. I didn't have the same surgery that you did and I can say that for me they have been worth the investment. Good luck--let me know what you decide (just curious)!! :)

That's great, thank you for your post! Where was the scar located?
