I Regret It
I had lasik surgery 1 month ago at the age of 46 yrs. I had been wearing glasses for 31 yrs. I wanted to be free of glasses. I was told that because I was over 40 years old I had a condition called presbyopia and would still need reading glasses after lasik. That should have been a red flag to me because the whole point of it I realise now was to not need glasses at all. Anyway the lasik made my near vision worse so that now I cannot read without reading glasses. But its more than that I cant see the TV remote buttons, I cant read small stuff in the fridge, I cant see how much items cost at the grocery, I need glasses to fill out forms, I cant see the pimple on my face or pluck my eyebrows or upper lip and depending upon how far aeay it is I cant see the computer. It has left me with blurry vision up close. Had I know what it meant to need reading glasses I would not have done lasik. I even bought progressive lenses to see if that would help but those are very blurry and difficult to use. I regret it immensly. I would give anything to need my old glasses back at my previous prescription before the surgery.
