4 months

It’s been 4 months now and I would not recommend this procedure. I have seen no improvement in my skin, but I have seen areas that are now red and irritated. After 4 months! I am continuing with Retin A and HQ but the laser has caused some rebound acne. I have some broken caps that were not present before. Disappointing, especially for the price. I will stick to peels next time. The PS I work for days they are much more effective, less expensive, and last longer. And without the same side effects. I will do some BBL treatments in the near future to help even out the redness and broken caps. Save your money-get a medium to deep peel instead! Even my former aesthetician who works for a laser clinic will always tell his patients to get peels instead.

10 weeks

Hey guys, wants to update on the MLP. I still have some areas of textural changes and redness. I saw my dermatologist (not a cosmetic one, this one works in my hospital system) to get an unbiased opinion on my healing. She actually thought I looked great, but she did say that I have “a very discerning eye” for subtlety. That said, she agreed that using Differin gel (less irritating than my Retin A 0.5%) along with HQ. She said that for ablative lasers that aggressive, healing can last 6-12 months.
I asked her if doing IPL, microneedling, or peels would help the process because I dont like the redness and areas of rough texture. She said “less is more. I see people over doing things all the time and end up worse off. Be kind to yourself, don’t stress, eat good food.”
So I’m doing what she told me and using tinted sunscreen in the meantime. I take a lot of supplements and just started juicing often so I will update more in a month or two.

Saw the nurse and plastic surgeon for a follow up

Yesterday I went in for a follow up to have them check on my skin as I was concerned about the redness be hyperpigmentation. They were both so sweet and caring. They said the redness is normal (for some skin types the redness, etc lasts long than others. Since I have fair skin I guess it’s common to lay longer). The raised areas I was talking about is swelling reactions. They were not concerned at all, but they did start me on Hydroquinone and Retin A to help prevent PIH (pot inflammatory hyperpigmentation). I am going to follow up again in 6-8 weeks and we will go from there. I am thinking of getting Halo and IPL next to boost collagen. Plus literally every review I have seen on Halo has great results.

Interestingly, I’ve been using Trophy Skin RejuvaliteMD (red LED light) for about 4 days now and it has made my skin noticeably softer and smoother. I think it’s helping speed the healing process on, along with the cleanse I am doing and supplements I’m taking. I’ll update soon with pics.

Overall rating

I read many Real Self reviews of this doctor, and was confident he would be great. He was very kind and realistic, and listened to my needs. He did not try to sell me anything I went looking for, and his nurse Robin was excellent and professional with a good aesthetic eye. I will go back for future treatments.
