I love the shape of my lips but they are thin. I was very affraid of the "duck" look some people get with fillers so I did a lot of research before I decided to go ahead with the procedure. I scheduled with Dr. Rueckl - got the appointment for the next day. He was very friendly and informative, which made me feel very comfortable to get the procedure done. I had two numbing shots which was the longest part of the consultation - waiting for my lips to get numb. The procedure itself took less than 2 minutes - seriously, it was quick! I used one full syringe of Restylane. He explained the swelling and bruising are normal and it could be worse the next day - and definitely was. Actually the brusing is not completely gone yet, but the swelling went down pretty much 48h after the procedure. I t's all documented in pictures.
So no surprises, everything he said could happen, did happen.. He was very informative and true to what I should expect. But the only thing that I missed being informed is that one syringe isn't enough. Really! As you see, my before and after within 7 days apart still has some bruising and little change.. So for fuller lips, definitely one syringe doesn't do the job, at least didn't do for me. I mean, I am happy that I didn't end up with the duck face that I am so affraid of, or uneven lips.. But wish my lips were fuller.
I realized that it doesn't matter how many reviews and videos you watch about a procedure, every person has their own results and sometimes the expectations you create based on other people's experience will get you disappointed.

Thank you for this review. I would tell you that I almost never will put more than one syringe in at a time. Especially on a patient new to fillers. Because every patient is different like you noted it is just not a good idea. I go by the mantra that it is much easier to add a syringe. So we can definitely put a second in for more volume. Plus remember that with the current special I have going, now is the time to do that! Call my office and have them put you in for a second syringe if you wish. But you will I promise you have had a horrible swollen duck lip look if we had put two in initially due to swelling. Much better to do it twice than have you suffer through that! :)

Look beautiful, how long will it last?

It is suppose to last 4-6 months as far as I know.. But everybody is different, and depends which fillers you are going to use as well.

Thats why i think lip implants may be the better choice because who wants to pay around 1000 for fillers every six months when they can get lip implants for around 1600 and be done with it!

I wouldn't do something permanent in my lips without seeing first the possible outcome and fillers are the best option in that case! But yeah, it gets very expensive..

Yes, that's my plan to, to see how I look with the fillers first, I went to the same dr you did, and

Even though i got a diff part of my face done not lips, it cost me more money because of his technique and application, believe me there are some Drs that can work magic with one syringe and he's not one of them, pls check out Dr Garry Lee, hes an expert at fillers and he doesn't spend 2 mins on your face. He's a perfectionist and an artist. He works for Allergan and Trains other Drs to do fillers properly, check out his website lookyoungermd

I can't see much of a difference. I think they went in too deep instead of going on the surface (which makes it last longer).

But before and after are both nice shapes!! :)

Yeah, I agree there is no much of a difference but now I know what to expect :)
