I had fat transfer to my lips in 1996 (different doctor). That was a huge waste of money, VERY painful and very traumatic. At the time it was $2500 . After taking 6 months to heal, my body absorbed all 100% of the fat transfer. I was left with nothing. Jump ahead to 2016 and my silly daughter and husband call me "Little Frowny Face" because my lips are so thin and turned down..that it looks like I am unhappy all the time. I decided to try Jevederm lip injections. I found Dr. Bryson Richards on RealSelf. He has a great attitude , is very knowledgeable on the latest techniques and he gets you in and done fast. I would say that it VERY important that you doctor performs the procedure using the cannula technique. Dont let another doctor talk you into a different method. Yes, it may be easier for them to NOT use this method....then that is not the doctor for you. With the cannula technique I experienced : almost 0% bruising, faster healing, less swelling and less pain during / after . I had 1cc placed in the upper lip and 1cc placed in the lower. I was very detailed and clear about my desired results and shape. The doctor in turn was honest about what could and could not be achieved. I am very happy with my results. My husband says they look great! I no longer have to draw on lips with lip liner. I am glad I did not get less filler. I think most people will be disappointed if they get less than 1cc for each lip. As far as pain, well it hurt less that getting a tattoo. It hurt 1000 times less than dental work. Warning: on day 2 your lips might swell a little more....dont worry that will go down. PIC INCLUDED: Not so fancy pic of me , no make-up, just taking it easy in day 3

You look great! You said that your lips were thin? How much larger are they now than they were before? It's hard to imagine that you ever had thin lips because your lips look so natural. I had fat injections at the time of my neck lift/face lift in November ..didn't have any pain but after a couple of months my lips were back to what they were before. I'm thinking about getting the juvederm lip injections too. From what i've been reading some people say that the lips are numbed before the process and they don't feel any pain at all. That's not your experience? You said you paid $889. Does the doctor charge by the lip/ by the syringe? I know i'll have to have this done yearly if it works out but I don't want to go broke having this procedure every year. Thanks for the info.

PRICE: I mentioned to the staff that I found the doctor on RealSelf and they priced me at the "RealSelf" special of something approx.(give or take a little) $449 Per 1 cc Syringe. So yes you could split that between the 2 lips for the same price.
ABSORPTION: the fat transfer was just the worst thing ever for me. My doctor was very rough. By the time I healed from the trama to my lips...all that fat was gone. For the Juvederm I am 5 days out now. If they stay like this for a year...I will be super happy. I really dont know yet how much I will absorb of the product. I am so happy with the results that I would hate to say in 3-6 months that they are gone. BUT the doctor seems to think that this is it and I might get a year out of them. HEALING: there will be one day...most likely day 2, when you get the Duck Lips. But mine went away the very next day. You want to stress that you dont want the injection fill to deep or to far back. PAIN: I did not get any pre-pain meds or creams. Thats right nothing. But, my doctor used the better or higher quality Juvederm that has a pain killer in it. After they make the pocket or canal. They start filling and man does that feel better. You can feel the second the pain killer starts to work. (Hurts less than getting ears pierced) SIZE BEFORE: well i was a master at the lip contouring. But I wasnt fooling anyone. If I was not smiling then there was no lip showing. I will try and find a non-lipstick picture so you can see the size.

Wow looks amazing! I'm in Vegas too and have had bad experiences with fillers though. They never last long I guess my body absorbs it really fast. I am getting fat transfer to lips next month and hoping for the best. Yours look beautiful.

What kinds of fillers have you had in the past? Have you had Juverderm? I spoke with someone last week who had a fat transfer in the past. She said that when she got her lips done that the PS overfilled them so that when the body absorbed them that her lips were still full. Don't know what they looked like in the past..i should have asked..but her lips looked great. My fat transfers lasted all of 2 months so you might want to talk to you PS about overfilling them.

I found a before picture and just posted it. I realized that in all of my pictures I had to try and hide my lips...or I had so much lip pencil and contouring on that they looked great in a picture...but not in real life. So yes this is a low quality crappy pic..but it is the only one I could find

All the swelling has gone

Well any swelling I had is now gone. My lips have " settled" . I have my fingers crossed that they will stay for 6 -12 months.
