1 week dr follow up

On Friday I went for 1 week followup. Drove myself to Vegas (480 miles round trip) The stitches under my chin and in front of my ears were removed. Dr stated Bacitracin was irritating incisions so I was given RX for another antibiotic ointment to use for 1 week. Here are some new pics. Found a way to get a shot of behind my ear. This is from day 5. The incision is actually up in my hair line but looks lower as the hair was shaved away before surgery. Bruising is worse on the left even if not to clear in pic. Doctor states I am doing great. I did get a massive driving home from Vegas as my sunglasses were putting pressure on side of my swollen face. The head wrap gives me a neck ache. Overall I am feeling good

Day 2 at Casa Marino in Mexico, feeling very pampered. Have no idea of the results. Lots of swelling. No pain thank god.

Hope you recover soon. For me the head wrap is the worst. I am supposed to wear 8 hours a day. I have degenerative discs in my neck so it makes VERY uncomfortable.

You look great. Am scheduled to get this surgery on Halloween. 2 concerns: How extensive is the numbness?
Does your neck feel like you're being choked?
Thanks!

Neck is tight. The first few days (with the big head wrap) it feels like it is difficult to swallow. I have numbness just in front of the ears where I have swelling and the area is hard and bruised. Emotions are up and down after surgery. Today has been difficult.

Looks like your healing pretty fast! And look fabulous so quickly, lucky you! I'am at 4 weeks today and feel so much better each day! Some swelling still comes and goes, ears and underneath my chin are still dead numb but only bother me in the morning when I wake up, as the day goes, I really don't notice it too much! At night I still wear my chin wrap to keep swelling down. Again looking great!

day 5 side view

Side view from this morning getting ready for work. I am loving this neck. Makeup is covering the bruises on my upper cheek area. This area and the area on the neck below my ears are swollen hard bruised and tender.I think these are the areas where the smas was stitched in place

Back to work. Makeup and hair cover obvious signs of recent surgery. Pic of ear stitching. You can se some of the light bruising/swelling in upper cheek area. The pen marks are still visible I have tried but I cannot take a pic of behind the ear and I have no one to do it for me

Omg back to work??? Did you have the SMAS? Are you happy with the results?
October 17, 2018
I hate to stay at home and I have a desk job (inside sales). I am not taking any pain killers so working is not a problem. I did have smas. I am stiff and sore but no real pain. I am loving my neck so far. I cant wait for the swelling on my upper cheeks to go down so I can see the results clearer on my face.

My neck looks like yours before surgery. I am hesitant about having surgery because of
pain and a long recovery but you did great, , went to work 4 days after surgery and you look so nice and refreshed. .. I am going to look into the SMAS procedure. Happy healing !

Dr. L did my surgery also and I only took the pain pills the first night. After that I didn't really need them. Just soreness, no big deal. I had neck liposuction and a lower facelift. Make sure you wear an Ace bandage wrap for 8 hours a day whenever you can, even if it's while sleeping, or put in on as soon as you come home from work. Very important. I went back to Dr. L last summer (2017) to have the upper and lower bleph. Another one of the best decisions I ever made.

Just adding that you might not have to wear the ace bandage 8 hours a day after your lower facelift, that might have been just what I had to do because I had neck liposuction. :)

Wow, I thought my recovery was fast, you've broken the record! You look fabulous at 4 days! I was a huge bobblehead and just starting to get my bearings by that day! Great surgeon! Congratulations!
