One year checkup
tropicallieJuly 21, 2019
WORTH IT$34,000
So it's been almost a year since I had the G4 procedure done and I'm still satisfied with the results.
I went back a month early for my one year check up because my husband was having the procedure done so we just did it all in one trip. I had some minor adjustment to the top bridge to make it easier to floss the implant up there. I also found out I am not doing a very good job cleaning the center front lower bridge. Had some build up there so am now using a TEPE angled peri brush to clean under there. Time will tell if it helps. Thanks to Ashley, Cat, Jesus, Nicole and Dr T. The team makes these visits easy and painless.
A I mentioned above, my husband got the G4 treatment while we were there. He had been in dentures for about 3 years and hated every moment of it. Could never get them to fit properly. He needed a couple of extra implants (eleven total) and seemed to have more swelling and pain than I had but less bruising. It's now been 12 days since his surgery and he is still icing and occasionally taking Motrin. But he is very happy with the outcome and is thrilled he can comfortably eat again.
One thing I wanted to mention that we both thought was a bit strange. When picking out his color for his teeth he was thinking of the middle color we were shown which was a white but not bright bleached white. They told him that Dr Golpa had a meeting with the staff and said he did not want the "older" population leaving the office with white teeth and the only color he could get was the natural. Dr Golpa's website before and afters as well as the videos all show older people with white teeth. Seems strange that he would advertise one thing and then tell you another when you get there. My husband got the natural color (the only color available to him and the color I got) and is happy but who knows if he would have been happier with white? If you are thinking of having this done you may want to keep this in mind.

First check-up
tropicallieJanuary 27, 2019
Went back to Las Vegas last week for my first check-up. I never gave much thought to how exactly they would take the bridges out. The covering over the screws has to be drilled out and then the screws are unscrewed and some type of ring removed. It's a lengthy process. And my first thought upon hearing that drill was "wait - I'm not numb yet" but there's no pain I just felt mild pressure. I was having some difficulty flossing around one of the upper end implants. There wasn't enough room between the bridge and my palate for the floss to fit. They made a new set of bridges which were inserted the following day. The bite on those bridges was better than the bite on my old bridges but I really did not like the aesthetics. The teeth were very different from my original set and to me looked like fake plastic teeth. They ended up putting back my original set (so glad they saved them) and relined and adjusted some things. I had had some small problems with blowing air and salivia through the top between my bridge and gum but the reline fixed that. They feel great. When I return in six months they will be making me another set of bridges to fix a small occlusion problem with my original set. I was given the option to change color but I stuck with what I have. My coloring doesn't look good with very white teeth. The set I have now has a bit of a beige look to them and look very natural with my coloring.
As always, a big thank you to Cat, Dr T and Dr Anna and of course Ashley. I also met Jesus this trip and he is also very nice.
If you are reading this as part of your research to determine if this is something you want to do, I urge you to call Dr Golpa's offfice and talk with them. They really are top notch people and I think you will be more than happy with the results. I don't have one minute's regret about having this procedure done. In fact, when I return in six months, we're hoping to have the money together so my husband, who has had dentures the past 3 years, can get the full Dr Golpa treatment.

Well thank you! I don't know about inspiring but recovery from this procedure was a lot easier than I was anticipating. My surgery was just straight forward extractions and implants. I didn't have to have any of the more painful stuff done.

The reason I say inspiring is because of how you explained your experience with Dr Golpa, your age because you look so young, (I'm 55 soon to be 56)and how you say your recovery went. Detailing the good the bad and the ugly is how a lot of us who are still speculating to get this done, for fear or lack of financial resources. It helps us get a better grasp on what to expect and anticipate. Thanks for sharing yours here:)

Cost?
October 18, 2018
The cost for both top and bottom was 33,500 plus 500 to remove two bone growths I had on my lower jaw. Worth every penny.

Tropicallie, your teeth are GORGEOUS. They really look like they're your natural teeth.
My procedure was done in Dallas (also Golpa) by Dr. Anderson who trained under Dr. Golpa. I selected the B2 color, as well. If memory serves me, that's the lightest ivory color. I wanted ivory rather than stark-white for a more natural look.
When it's time for my new teeth in January, I hope mine end up as pretty as yours. I was told that the initial bridges they place are usually your permanent ones, and you get them relined on your 6-month check. However, since the mid-line on my upper teeth was off (not centered), they said they'd make new ones.
Although my bridges look nice - especially compared to my own teeth at that point - they look nothing like my original teeth, and I was disappointed with them. They knew I was disappointed and were all very cordial to me.
They said, the day after all that work, they didn't want to make a second set of impressions to worsen the trauma to my mouth (for healing purposes). From the excellent care I received from the Dallas Golpa staff, I have no doubt that they will do their best to make me happy with my teeth.
Mine cost the same as yours, $33,500. They had a $29,000 special and I paid an additional $4,000 to have my other implants removed. They said they sometimes can use an implant, but some are too long for their bridges. Apparently mine was!
I had 2 torus (bone growths) on my lower jaw (one tori on the right and one on the left), but they'd been filed down some in one of my many other dental procedures over the years, so they didn't have to remove them. Your bone growths may not be the same that mine were, though (your $500 extra charge).
By the way, I'm also from Florida, Homosassa.
