WORTH IT$800
so $800 was per syr, just to be clear. Having a baby every 7 yrs and working out has sort of left that hollow feel to my face. Plus I love the sun and wasn't good about sunscreen until this year. Actually I never noticed any issue with my face until this year and one day I walked up to my car and was horrified by the aged reflection in the window tint! It is amazing how aging can sneak up on you so quickly. So first let me give you my recommended treatment plan that my derm told me I needed for optimal results. It should be 2 syr of voluma in my cheeks to address the nasialfolds which bother me the most. And then Botox in the forehead and where the "11s" are starting to form. I decided to take a conservative approach because I was scared to have too much cheek volume since I had a more round face before and I wanted to make sure I still look like myself and have a more gradual return to youthfulness! So today I had 1 syr of Voluma in both cheeks and in 6 weeks I will have the second round and the Botox. So I will update more pics at that time. The difference is not huge right now but I can definitely see the volume in my cheeks and it looks better in the mirror than on my phone but maybe this will help someone trying to make a decision. I used Las Colinas Dermatology and have only seen Brooke, the Nurse Practitioner and I think she's pretty amazing. She absolutely made me feel super comfortable and I'm a big baby about everything! From a pain perspective it's a deep muscle injection between the muscle and the bone so it's like getting a B12 shot. Doesn't reall hurt going in, is just a little sore later. my problem was that I could hear it hitting the bone which was so freaky but Brooke was such a pro that I was laughing during most of the 10 min process. There is lidocaine in the injection and they numb you with a cream 20 min before so it's really barely a prick. Anyway here me yesterday in the grey shirt and then in the green shirt in the doctors office looking nervous and then back at work and hour later with no pain! Will update some over the next few days if any different and then again with progress.

Great, thank you for sharing your experience and your pics here! You look great - refreshed and natural!

How many units of Botox are you planning to have?

May 14, 2016
Thanks Chris! I honestly don't remember what she advised but I know there is one injection site where there is the line across my forehead and another in the places where the elevens are starting to develop. Once I go back at the end of June though, I'll update you with the amounts.

Wow I can't believe you're 42! Your results are very natural. I'd never suspect you had any work done.

Thanks Zurria!!

This is about right. 2 syringes in each cheek for full correction. I have a face like you and from age 42 to 44, my face deflated like a party balloon. Don't be surprised if in a year it looks like you've lost the results. This is normal. The fat loss in the face accelerates in early 40's so be ready to keep going every 6 months until about age 45 or 46 when the loss slows down. It speeds up again around menopause. Ugh!!!

So I have had a total of 3.5 syringes in the last 9 months. The first time I went, I did 1/2 a syringe in each cheek and it made a ton of difference. 6 months later, I got 2.5 vials put in and it wasn't as dramatic, but it really made me look fresh without a big difference. My father noticed that my face looked "fuller" and he asked me if I had gained some weight haha.

I was told I needed 5 or 6 vials for a full correction and I believe them now. It's amazing how subtle 2 or 3 vials can be on an aging face.

I am going to keep going every 6 months and get a vial put in until I have a full correction. I want the results to remain subtle.

Not good news at all! I'm at almost two weeks and expected more fullness this week but I'm still on the fence about having the second syringe at the end of June. I probably will but I thought the idea was to see optimal results at 6 months not go in for a refill! Do you have any before and afters pictures posted?

You look great! Very natural. I'm curious if you ended up with swelling or bruising? I'm considering it my first time two days before I leave the country and I don't know if it's a good idea.

hi Eva,

Not even the tiniest bruise and no swelling. I left my makeup off in a few of the pics so you could see the little needle marks right in the middle of my face but those were easily recovered with makeup. But I've heard every experience is different so I believe the majority of the time there is probably slight bruising and I've heard many other people say their was some swelling so it may be safer to do it on a Friday like I did so you have the weekend to recover just in case. You aren't suppose to lay on your face for 2 weeks if that helps. I have no regrets 2 weeks out and while I will probably have the second syringe added in a few weeks at my follow up, if you get a good Dr, it is SO worth the cost to have your outsides match your insides again! Good luck, I wish you the best!!:)

You look amazing!! Definitely enough for people to think that you look healthy and refreshed, but subtle enough to not know why. It's perfect!!

Distinc you have the second syringe, it looks good with just the 1 syringe. Could you please post pictures if you had second syringe so I can see if I should do 1 or 2. Thanks
June 11, 2016
The top words was suppose to say did you (sorry)
June 11, 2016
Sorry read it again you dnt go for the 2nd syringe until the 20th. Silly me. Anyway I'm getting 1 syringe on the 19th thinking of 2.
June 17, 2016
I had one and then I went back for one more. Better to be safe on the safe side. For me adding one more syringe wasn't much different. Very subtle. I think it depends on your age and shape of face. I hope you like your results!
June 21, 2016
I posted the second syringe that was just added today. I'll post a couple more this week with makeup and hair normal so that my give a different perspective
June 15, 2016
Hi thanks for posting! I was curious if you did one syringe between both cheeks or 1 syringe per cheek. You look fantastic!
June 21, 2016
Hi Merlindog! The pics posted earlier were 1 divided between two cheeks. I had the second syringe added today(3weeks later) and just updated those pics
June 17, 2016
I did this exact thing and I'm very happy with my results. My cheeks look similar to yours. I had one syringe in both cheeks and then I went back for one more. My doctor put most of the product closer to the apple of my cheek because I already have high prominent cheek bones. When I went in I assumed she would do the three injections across my cheekbone because that is what I saw when I researched Voluma on the internet. I'm so glad she had the foresight to inject it so that the results look natural to my face. You can't tell that I have had anything done. I think that when people have that obvious heavy look to their cheekbone they have either had too much product injected or they had it injected in the wrong area. You look great! I'm glad your happy with your results!
June 21, 2016
thanks Aimee! If you have pictures of your before and after I would love to see them and to know how long yours lasted!
June 22, 2016
I really hate posting pictures of myself. It had my done last August 05. I can say that my face isn't as full as it was just after I had it done but there is still a visible difference. My cheeks looked very similar to micheletx even after her second injection. I almost want a touch up after seeing her pictures. I just wish it was less expensive or lasted longer!
June 22, 2016
Sorry, I thought I was answering someone else. My results were almost exactly like yours. I was going to touch up my cheeks but I just had my nasolabial folds done again last week with juviderm ultra and my results aren't as good as last time so I'm going to wait until this settles to do anything else.
June 27, 2016
I have a question for you for your first treatment was 1 syr in each cheek or 1 syr for both cheeks?
June 28, 2016
1 syr divided between both cheeks the first time. Then 1 more divided between the cheeks again last Monday which was a month later

UPDATED FROM micheletx
1 month post

2nd syringe added today

micheletx
so today was the third week after my first treatment and the day I had the second syringe added. While I still see some lining around my mouth I am thrilled to have cheeks again. 2 appears to be exactly the right amount for me and I feel like I just look a lot less tired instead of "done", so mission accomplished! I sure hope it lasts! There was a discount this week for customer appreciation week so total for the 2 syringes of Voluma was 1400, if it lasts for 18months as excepted it would definitely be worth every penny. Will post a few more pictures over the next few weeks once things settle. Again their was no bruising so far and these pics are without reapplying makeup from the procedure. Straight from the DR office.

You look great! It will settle down some in another week or so. I actually liked mine best right after a had it done! This makes me want to do a touch up. :)
October 21, 2016
looks great. took 5 years off your face. I am 45 and going to January for 3 syringes in total. I already did 3.5 syringes last January, so I just want to build on my current results and then do a top up 6 months later if needed.
