I've been receiving Botox and/or Dysport...

I've been receiving Botox and/or Dysport injections since 2004. I've had injections that didn't hurt at all, injections that hurt like crazy and lots of in-between. I've had the "frozen face" syndrome of being over-injected and had one place that I was convinced injected nothing but saline.

A few years ago I had fillers in my nasolabial folds while living overseas. The results were great, and I don't regret having them, but the memory of the pain kept me from ever wanting to repeat the process. I mean, it HURT....like, made me cry like a toddler hurt. Of course, there was no numbing cream and the filler used didn't have lidocaine in it, but still. It was enough of an ordeal to scare me away from ever trying fillers again.

Fast forward to November 2016 when I was visiting family in Lakeland. I mentioned to my niece that I needed her to make me an appointment to bet my Botox done, as it was due. She made the appointment for me with Brenda Pribila, owner of Vita Vitality (she also owns Orlando Laser and Med Spa, LLC). For a few days prior to my appointment, my niece tried to talk me into getting fillers in my thinning-with-age lips. I was not at all keen on the idea, but my niece promised that not only would Brenda use a really good numbing cream, but was a magician with the needle. I was skeptical, but willing to talk to Brenda about the possibilities.

So the morning of my appointment I talked to Brenda about my areas of concern and told her I'd try it...figuring that if it was excrutiating I could always stop at just a tiny amount.

So Brenda started by putting the numbing cream on my lips. WOW! Numbing cream has come a long way since I last had reason to try it. It immediately numbed my entire lip...almost like a shot of novocaine at the dentist would do. That fact in itself lowered my fear level. Brenda's kind mannerisms and assurances calmed me even further.

After giving the cream a few minutes to work, Brenda began my injections. I felt a little pinch at the injection site and could feel a little pressure while she moved it around, but it was really an almost completely pain free experience.

Then came time for the Dysport. She asked lots of questions about what I was looking for and if I had any concerns. I told her that I didn't want my face to be so frozen I couldn't move it. (Ever try to apply mascara when you can't raise your eyebrows? Try it sometime...it's humorous.) She injected all my problem areas. Once again, she is great with the needle. Very little discomfort at all.

It's now been a week and a half since my injections and I love the results. My lips look fantastic...just the right amount of fullness without looking unnatural. I'm tickled to death with the results. The Dysport has now kicked in and I'm happy to say I have "just enough" movement of my eyebrows and forehead to not look frozen. I can still do the "you must be kidding" one-eyebrow raised look of disdain with impugnity.

Looks like I'll be flying down to Florida a few times a year!

Thanks Brenda!
