on Dec7th 2010, i had extra large malar/submalar implants put in, today is the 25th of Dec, i am a male 40 yrs old in good physical condition, i had saggy eyes, and lines on my face, and my face was a little sunken in before this procedure, now my face is nice and swollen, not sure how much more my cheeks will go down from the swelling, i sure hope the ball look i have under my face will disappear, im pretty upset so far, will it get any better, because i have already considered taking them out. 19 days is too soon to judge the final result. Swelling will stay around for a month or more.

ok it's day 19 Dec 26, 2010, my cheeks look bigger than the rest of my face, i have XL malar/submalar implants, will this continue to go down in time, maybe the implants are to big, if they don't go down a lot, i will differently need to find a expert Dr, to help in the removal, and fix of my face,

Hi Ryan -- I saw your update about removal. I'm really sorry this didn't work out for you. :( Are you going back to the same doctor for the removal surgery?

Sharon, Dr Lakhani refused to remove the cheek implants, so this patient had to go to another surgeon to get them removed.

the Dr who did the implant refuses to take them out, so i am having to find someone else, in Honolulu to do it, The original DR was Dr L in Lakeland Fla, i am so depressed, that i had to get a prescription for Valium, because this is very emotional for me, do u know if there is a minimum wait time to get them removed, i have an appointment on the 12th for consultation, the sooner i get these out the better life will be, i have never been so down in my life. Big mistake i made doing this. Thanks Ryan

I am SO SORRY for you. No patient should have to go through what you went through. Dr L should have TOLD YOU prior to taking you on as a patient that he was not experienced with cheek implants. I WISH these Dr's would be honest with their patients.

Do you think that the problem was just the size (too big) or also the position ?

Even if the size was too big or the position was wrong, this surgeon should have KNOWN what he was doing. I just wish that surgeons would be HONEST with their patients. If the surgeon does not feel he can do a good surgical procedure TELL THE PATIENT instead of putting us through all this anguish and depression on horrible results.
