45 Yo Chin Implant, Lipo, Submentoplasty

I have always hated my chin and neck profile. I have a recessed chin, and my neck is not well defined. As I've gotten older I have more fat in that are and the double chin is killing me!

I considered kybella, but I didn't like the idea of three expensive treatments and it still would fix my recessed chin. I finally decided to do something drastic and consulted with two plastic surgeons. Dr. Gross at Primera Plastic Surgeon was by far the best choice (see my review below). We decided on the chin lipo with implant (he said large because I am tall - sounds scary, hope he's right).

I went in yesterday for the surgery. Arrived at his state-of-the-art surgery center at 7:15, and got started with the nurse, Sara and the anesthestist. Dr. Gross came in and measured and marked, and answered my last minute questions. The next thing I knew they were putting my shoes on so I could go home.

The surgery took about 2 hours because once he got in there he realized I had a significant amount of fat behind my muscle and he chose to add a submentoplasty to the mix.

They gave me an anti-nausea patch and the ride home was uneventful.

So far I don't have huge swelling, but some bruising on my neck and the sides of my jaw. I've been taking Bromelian, Arnica, Curcumin, and Celebrex (prescribed by PS) and drinking pineapple juice. I've also been using arnica cream on the bruises. I stopped taking the prescription pain killers on day 2/3 and haven't even needed Tylenol since day 4. The biggest side effect so far is that my bottom lip is weird and tingling like I've had Novocain and my chin is totally numb. The chin I expect, but the bottom lip is freaky and I can't smile right, so my face looks flat - without expression. I was really hoping that this would have worn off by now. I go back to the Doc in 2 days, hopefully to get the stitches out, and then I go back to work on day 10 - hoping that I look more like myself by then.
