I was in pain for a number of years, And the implants had started to leak. They had a lot of scar tissue around them, and both pursed. I had the silicon leading into my body. Dr. Richards told me he could clean this all up and give me new implants. He had a hard time getting all the broken scar tissue out of the Breast, but he did it.

I have 40 year old saline implants. I have had 9 consults and I have decided to do it next month-but my dilemma-remove, replace and if I do-aline this time? I have been in pain for a long time and the thought of anymore silicone floating around in my body is not what I want. I really don't want to replace but I will be so deformed and in shock after 40 years of having a B cup, to flat chested again. If there is anyone who did silicone and saline replacement I would like to know the difference [beside the price]

Hi daisy....you topped me mine BI are 33 years old...pre BI I was 34 B....with implants 34DD......I'm in my mid sixties and will Explant hopefully within the next few months. After much thought and the help of many on this forum who have shared their stories....I decided to Explant....wait six months to heal and then see if I will be satisfied with that outcome or proceed with fat grafting. After all these years I don't expect that 34B will look the same as it did in my youth but they will fit my 128 lb 5'5" frame just fine. With a little help with the right bra I think I would be fine with that. As far as the difference between silicone and saline? The first two years of my BI life I had saline until one deflated....currently mine are double lumen....inner shell is with silicone and a thin outer shell has saline.....I should say had saline because the saline ruptured and silicone likely has a rupture too. Instead of ne trying to explain what I think the difference is......you should do a uTube google search on. Dr Susan E. Kolb PS...she gives a ten minute discussion on Breast Implants and is the author of "The Truth about Breast Implants from Harm to Healing". After listening to her explain the truth....that is when I made my decision to Explant and of course reading all the inspiring stories on this forum. Hope my reply is helpful. :-)
