Would Do It All over Again.
I'd like to preface this by saying that labiaplasty was a procedure I had been desperate to go through with since hitting puberty. My mind had been made up a very long time ago: I would get it done one day, no matter what it took. I am about half way through the healing process, and every day I am increasingly more pleased with the results. No regrets whatsoever.
If you are anything like me (which may be safe to assume if you are considering a labiaplasty) you know the constant discomfort of long labia getting caught, pinched, pulled, chafed, etc. especially if you live an active lifestyle. Personally, I had one very long, uneven labia that was the source of my misery. Intimate encounters were always a huge source of anxiety for me throughout my life, as men had constantly put me down for the way my labia looked. All past, serious longterm boyfriends of mine had made me feel awful about the way I looked down there, and it certainly does take a toll on your self esteem over time.
Thanks to the amazing staff at Allan Centre I have finally experienced what it feels like to be comfortable in my daily life, and comfortable in my own skin. Words can not describe how incredibly happy I am with how the procedure went, and with the results. The temporary pain and discomfort post-procedure is 100% worth it. Best money I have ever spent on something for myself.
An added bonus was that Doctor Allan uses a cauterizing technique, which I believe helps create a better result in terms of healing and overall cosmetic appearance.
Pros:

- local anaesthetic is used, so you are able to drive to and from your appointment (very discreet for those who are self conscious)
- thorough checklist and instructions are given, along with medications and gauze (you will need a LOT of gauze pads)
- affordable financing available at this clinic
- you are given a very helpful goodie bag with everything you need for the first few days
- Doctor Allan will check up with you via phonecall or text in the morning following your procedure
- very clean, well kept clinic
Cons:
- Moderately expensive (worth it, but it is a barrier for some)
- long-ish, very uncomfortable healing process that has put my normal life on pause for several weeks. The first week of pain was pretty rough, after that you're mostly just dealing with discomfort. Full disclosure, it hasn't been easy for me. But no pain, no gain!
- the healing phase at around week two and three were INSANELY, almost unbearably itchy for me.
- you must abstain from any sexual contact for about 6 weeks
- you will not be able to exercise for several weeks
- you will need to take some time off from work. I'd advise 5-7 days, depending on your pain tolerance and nature of work.

I couldn't have been more happy with my choice to see Dr. Allan for my labiaplasty. Both him and his nursing staff were amazing to deal with. They made what should have been a nerve-wracking first surgical experience into a relaxed, painless procedure. I would recommend his services to everyone, even if you live outside of Calgary like I do.
