At last! Labiaplasty, Trim method.
I Waited 20 Years for This!
Where to start. I've wanted this procedure since I learned of its existence around the age of 16. I did my research and around 2017 I was finally brave enough to speak with a professional about my issue. That was Dr. Allan. My opinion of him then was that he was very professional and straight to business. His staff were friendly and the atmosphere felt clean and welcoming as well. I was given a quote of a little over 5k. At the time I had no hope of affording such an expense out of pocket. Dr. Allan encouraged me to shop around and to see what types of quotes I could get.
I took my quote home and weighed my options with my husband and we decided that while I was able to get it covered via healthcare through the hospital, I'd much rather pay for the job to be done right by a professional. I decided Dr. Allan was that guy after reading reviews and investigating other options. I felt comfortable with my choice.
So save my husband and I did.
Fast forward to September 14th 2020 when I walked back into the Allan center for a brief consult. Again I was met with a clean atmosphere as per covid regulations by friendly staff. While the waiting room wasnt as cute as the previous location, it was sterile and that's what's important in these crazy times.
Dr. Allan met me with a smile and confirmed I still wanted the labiaplasty, I expressed some concerns with my labia I had noticed since the last consult. I had some stitches pop from my first birth that I didn't notice and it sort of made the base of my vagina ever off to the side. After taking a quick look he assured/agreed it wasn't worth a perineal repair (an additional 5k) and showed me how he would work around it. We came to an agreement and that concluded the consult, next I moved to his assistants office (I'm the worst I forget her name, she was wonderful though!!) We invited my husband into the office where I was offered a date for September 25th 2020. It was much sooner than I thought, but I jumped at the opportunity. I went home in a daze that I had finally done it.
September 25th I was called by the surgical center and told they were running ahead and asked if I could come in an hour and a half earlier. Naturally I shoved my husband out of bed and off we went. I forced down a cliff bar despite my sudden nervousness.
I arrived at the back door where I was met by a pleasant nurse who gave clear instructions. They made sure I was comfortable, complete with heated blanket and cozy slippers while I waited for numbing cream to do its thang.
The procedure itself was a breeze, the nurses kept me comfortable and provided lots of conversation. The nice thing about being awake is having that open line of communication. It was over very quickly and when he handed me the mirror I couldn't have been happier to see not my vagina, but a puffy new vagina.
(I'll update the post op photo once I crop my butt out of it . Lol)
Day 3 PO
I took a shower with success, but otherwise I've stayed in bed and kept myself entertained.
I was sick the whole first night after surgery, the medication prescribed didn't agree with my stomach. Since it had been 24 hrs Dr. Allan told me to go ahead and switch to tylenol extra strength, which has been perfectly adequate for pain management since then.

Feeling good
What I've noticed is I think my stitches dissolved too quickly on the surface of my left labia, though it seems to be keeping together I'm keeping a close eye on it.
I've started using the minty topical cream provided for the itch, which I've only needed to use very small amounts of, it helps a lot especially before bed. My poor clitorus has usually been well protected by my labia and hood, definitely feeling sensitive and raw now that it's got a little exposure. Today is a little more bearable and I'll try walking about the house some again after the weekend.
I knew I wouldn't walk away with a picture perfect vagina, but I am so happy with the results, I'd say my swelling has become very minimal. I believe that today I am officially a week PO.
