You can't even tell I had surgery - my confidence is better than ever

Dr. Alter is a Miracle Worker!
WORTH IT
This review has been a long time coming, but I'm happy to share my wonderful experience with Dr. Alter! It deserves to be known.
So here goes...
When I was 27 years old, I had a botched Labiaplasty performed in Houston, Tx (by an unskilled surgeon) in May 2020. I was left with one side over excised and too small...and ONE side of my stitches splitting at the seams, which was not only painful...but also completely destroyed my self confidence. I desperately wanted to get the split side repaired.
I was at a loss for what to do, and then I remembered that I had seen Dr. Alter's work on RealSelf. He seemed like the best of the best; a real luxury dream surgeon to work with. He worked on many challenging cases before, so I hoped that he could help me. So I reached out to him for advice (just 3 months after my initial surgery). He reviewed my photos and gave me even more hope, because he said that he believed that he could fix my botched Labiaplasty on the LEFT side of my labia with a revision surgery. Although I had to wait until 6 months post initial operation to get a better opinion from him; so the tissue would be better healed. That's when he said that he would be willing to take me on as a patient! :)
I made a small down payment for the surgery, and was given a very through list of things to ways to prepare for my operation and travel. His staff did a great job of communicating with me before hand, answering all of my questions and putting my mind at ease. Covid restrictions threatened to complicate my plans, but I was still able to schedule a date for the surgery.
I flew out to his Los Angeles (Beverly Hills) office in February 2021, and made the journey by myself. I was so excited and I just knew that I was going to be in good hands...and I was!!! Everyone in his office was so empathetic, sweet and went above and beyond to make you feel right at home. The actual office is elegant, quaint, private and full of friendly vibes.
Upon meeting Dr. Alter I was very taken with how funny, warm, compassionate and caring his bedside manner was. You can tell that he is very knowledgeable and wants to use his experience to do anything that he can to help his patients. He left very little room for doubt in my mind and I grew to have a great deal of trust in him. He actually made me feel a lot better about the situation and I felt confident in his ability to fix me up. I didn't feel like such a "lost cause". I didn't sense a single bit of judgment or negativity directed at me during our consultation. During the consult we shared a few laughs too! He struck me as someone who I'd actually want to be friends with in real life. I was very fortunate for having him as my surgeon; with his skill, personality and expertise.
When it came time for the day of the surgery, I felt very safe and looked after. Everyone who prepped me that day was so awesome and kind: the receptionists, the nurses, the doctor who gave me the anesthesia, even the people in operating room as I was falling asleep. The whole staff made for a wonderful memorable experience! I think the whole thing took 3 hours total from arrival to discharge from the facility.
I woke up and was guided out of his office with care, and a private nurse tended to my needs for several hours after the procedure. As Dr. Alter's office does not allow patients to be left alone immediately following surgery; for safety and care.
Dr. Alter helped set me up with the best nurse (one who he's trusted for over 10 years), she was extremely methodical about checking my incisions/stitches, changing my gauze pad, helping me get up to go to bathroom, feeding me snacks/water, reminding m to take my meds and checking in on my mood. I didn't think I'd need her at first, but I was grateful to have her there by my side.
After the surgery I NEVER felt any pain, discomfort or worry. I took my pain meds as instructed, but often found that I didn't need them...I never finished the small bottle. I was even able to get on a plane from LA to Houston just 3 days after my surgery; the 3 1/2 hr flight was no problem. I was back up and doing some light more intense walking a week later! I could go to work like usual. And the results were already looking great immediately after the surgery and all the way through healing process. I was only worried about 1 stitch that looked a little inflamed, but Dr. Alter told me not to worry about it because it looked normal. He assured me everything was healing fine. The worry was really just all in my minds
I resumed having vaginal intercourse 6 weeks after surgery and it was still slightly numb on the one side (since the nerves were healing). By that time the stitches had dissolved and the labia was strong and able to withstand friction and stretching. I wasn't in pain and sexual activity (at 6 weeks post op) did not affect my results whatsoever.
Fast forward to over a year later and I'm doing GREAT! I'm so GLAD that I got this surgery done by Dr. Alter!!! My Labiaplasty healed up nice and strong. I have absolutely no worry about the tissue holding up in the long term. The skin is fully recovered and beautiful!!! You really can't even tell that I had surgery. My confidence and sex life are better than ever! My labia looks way better than before. Even my boyfriend is crazy about it. I can't believe that I have such a beautiful result to look at for the rest of my life.
Without hesitation...trust in Dr. Alter! He's incredible, beyond words!!!
I would not be the same without his help. He's the definition of a miracle worker. A true angel with the skilled hands of a surgeon! What a real blessing in my life!
