I don’t typically leave reviews but Dr. Scheinberg definitely earned the time it takes to write a proper review. I had researched this procedure for years and understand that reviews and pictures play a big part in receiving business but most importantly, guides patients to the best surgeon possible.
As I stated I researched for many years but was more happy with my appearance than what many surgeons appeared they could do for me. It seemed many were general plastic surgeons without the expertise of vulva anatomy. Even many gynecologists who preform labiaplasty did not present pictures which reflected a full understanding or proper/tailored techniques for the vast variety of vulvas.
While working in Fort Lauderdale I decided to take the opportunity to research surgeons. I came across Dr Scheinberg and for the first time saw someone who specialized in cosmetic gynecology and could show over 100 pictures with perfect results. I learned so much from his website and RealSelf. I booked a consultation with his office staff, which are the sweetest, most comforting women I might add.
Day of my consultation I booked my surgery for labiaplasty and reduction of prepuce. Though I had scoured every inch of his website and didn’t really need it Dr Schienberg gave me the full run down and all my questions were answered. He was even able to position my labia to show me what will look like with using my natural edge. I didn’t need to see or speak to any other surgeon. The decision was a no brainer.
The morning of surgery was a breeze as the surgery center was amazing. I appreciated being sedated for the procedure as it does take time. I don’t think anyone should be awake for this. If this is the case I would question the dr you have chosen.
Recovery for the first week was a 4 on a scale of 1-10. Id say it was more uncomfortable and time consuming to care for the incisions as your pain is managed by medication. Ice packs were my best friend for about 4 weeks. I was tired the first week as well. Second week was very itchy but less painful. Suture removal was not fun but a HUGE relief. After they were removed it was smooth sailing and pain/discomfort had disappeared for the most part.
I just had my 6 week appointment and everything is literally perfect. My confidence and sex drive have sky rocketed. I don’t feel I need to hide or adjust my labia from my husband anymore. I want to be seen.
I just have to say Dr Scheinberg is the only man for the job and should be the #1 surgeon listed for labiaplasty. All other surgeons should be trained him or his methods should be standard practice world wide. I hope any woman making this choice finds this review.
