My dream vagina - why did I wait this long to do this?

Everything is going really well! No pain today honestly, which is great because tomorrow is Monday and I have to be back at work / won’t be able to take my prescribed pain meds and work. I’ll be working from home, on zoom camera off, so can easily stay laying on the couch with my laptop in my lap. I plan to take Tylenol tomorrow just to make sure I stay comfortable.

Took a shower yesterday, just rinsed with water. This morning I showered with soap just on my body and let it dribble down.

I’m constipated from the pain meds I think, which stresses me out a little. Take your probiotics ladies!

Still a bit swollen down there, but compared to how much lighter I feel down there post surgery, the swelling feels like nothing.

Still so happy with everything!

I got my labiaplasty done by Dr. Alter in NYC yesterday. Documenting the process day by day here in case it can be helpful to others! Will update as I go!
Background: I’ve been embarrassed of my protruding labia since I was in middle school. I’m 32 years old and got to a point where, why live with something you’re unhappy with if you have the means to make a change? I wanted to take control. I found Dr. Alter here on real self and it was clear to me he was the doctor to go to. No one has done this more that him, and you just don’t gamble with this area.
Day 0: Met with Dr. Alter the day before surgery for my pre-op apt to customize a plan. I was very concerned about scaring, because my body typically scars pretty horribly (I’ve been trying to get rid of other scars for a decade. I know other people heal much better, and this area is very different than other places, but still.) Dr. Alter listened to my concerns and we decided not to cut all of the way up the clitoral hood where scaring would be most visible if there was any. We’d cut halfway up the clitoral hood so the labiaplasty would transition well and scars would stay hidden in folds. Note: I am nit picky, a perfectionist, and don’t want a soul to know I’ve had work done anywhere, especially here. Not going all the way up the hood meant this part would be a little bulkier that it could be, but I liked the idea of a very natural look. The long labia was what really haunted me.
Day 1: Walked in the door at 7:30am out at 12:15pm. Anesthesia was really easy and I was out. Everything went perfectly. I had 0 pain the rest of the day because of the long lasting local anesthesia. Very very little bleeding (like a drop maybe) and I couldn’t really tell that anything was swollen (Dr. said it was, but looked fine to me honestly.) It was all so easy. Worst part was the needle in my arm by the anesthesiologist, honestly.
Peeing is fine. I am just using a disposable water bottle to squirt the area (couldn’t find anything that seemed better at my pharmacy). I feel fine bopping around the house, doing little chores, but forcing myself to chill.
I didn’t take any pain meds during the day day 1. Didn’t need them. During the night I started to feel a bit of burning, so took half of my Percocet around 11pm. Took the other half at 2am.
Day 2: She looks perfect. I’m so happy. So crazy to stand and see myself in the mirror naked with nothing hanging out / down. I can’t wait to go skinny dipping and finally feel comfortable walking around naked in front of my partner.
Really happy with the incision lines, which you can’t see. Still very natural looking. It’s early obviously, but pretty sure it’s the vagina of my dreams. Why did I wait this long to do this?
Pain is noticeable on day 2, but not bad. Took another half of my Percocet this morning.
