Week 1 Post OP visit

Hi friends!
I had my 1 week post op visit with Dr. Mofid this mornig & I am feeling amazing!!! Today I am 8 days post op. Dr. said I looked really good! He said "oh you waist is so tiny now"! I am scheduled for my 1month after pics on Jan 14. I promise to post before and after pics for everyone to see because I know that can make a big difference as to a decision on getting the surgery. I am still is minimal pain. Juts a little numb. Dr. Mofid said that I can do light walking now which is great! Thanks guys! I promise to keep everyone posted :)

Hi everyone! I am 6 days post op from by BBL...

Hi everyone!
I am 6 days post op from by BBL procedure with Dr. Mark Mofid in La Jolla CA and I am happy so far! Lets start with the Dr. Mofid. He's really nice, caring and knows his stuff! PLus... not bad to look at lol. He anwsered all of my questions and concerns and made sure that I was well informed. The office staff is really wonderful and professional. Setera is the office manger and is very accomidating and sweet, professional and a REALLY good source for what to expect during and after surgery.

So lets disscuss cost. I had an amazing experience with paying too!!! Dr. Mofid gives "professinol" discounts. I am an RN & was given $2000 off my BBL! Nice!!!! So if you happen to be in the medical field don't forget to mention that :) The total cost for my procedure was $8000 & it seems to have been well worth it so far! I went for my free consoltation in June 2013 and I was allowed to make payments untill 3 weeks prior to surgery (full amount must be paid at or before 3 weeks). It was really great.

Pre op appoitnment. This will happen three weeks prior to surgery. On this day you will meet with Dr. Mofid and disscuss any further questions or concerns you may have. Than you will fill out a bunch of pre op documents. Setera will take pictures for your before surgery documentation (never of your face since the pics could be published).

Day before surgery. You are to not eat or drink after 12midnight on the day of surgery as this can cause complications if you so happen to vomit during surgery. The anesthesiologist called me the night before surgery just to explain things which was nice. I was working in an ER that night so I missed the call, but he did leave me a short message.

Day of surgery. My surgery was at 0800 in the morning. I arrived at Dr. Mofids office/ surgery center at 0730. I met the nurse who I was working with and we began! She takes your clothes, you put on a gown and she asks you a couple of pre op questions. For example, "Do you have any allergies"? & "What procedure are you having done today"? After this if you female she will ask you to give a urine sample to be sure that you are not pregnant so come with a semi full bladder lol. After this you are good to go! Dr. Mofid will come in at some point when you are speaking with the nurse and draw on you. You will also meet your anesthesiologist at this time.

Operating room. When brought into the OR by the nurse you will meet your surgical tech. You will down on the OR table and then the anesthesiologist will start your I.V. He actually injects your hand with Lidocane prior to starting the I.V which is amazing! I wish we did that at my hospital lol. The lidocane stings a little, but you don't even feel the I.V go in after that point. Sweet! Then shortly after you are put to sleep by the general anesthesia.

Post op OR. Your surgery should take between 2-3 hours if you are only getting the BBL done. Whe I woke up I felt very nauseated and threw up right away, which is normal. The nurse is right next to you and has a basin ready or will assist you by holding an alcohol swab under your nose (this can decrease nausea). After I threw up I felt 10x better, but the anesthesiologist offered to give me phenergan through my I.V so I said "Oh heck to the yes"!!! Phenergan is an anti-nausea medicatiion. I then felt the urge to pee really bad si my nurse took me to the bathroom. Keep in mind that during surgery you have a urinary catheter inserted, so when you first pee after surgery it may hurt a little. I went bak to my PAC bed (post anesthesia care), and to be honest only then did i otice the pain, and really only becuas ethe nurse asked me if I was in any pain. I said yes just minimal, which was really the truth. She offered me some dilauded I.V which quicly minimized my pain to 0. Dilauded is a strong pain medication usually given after surgery. After that the nurse will help you change back into your pre op clothing and make sure vital signs are all normal and that you are comfortable. Then you are wheeled out to your car and recovery begins!!!

At some point after your surgery when you are still under general anesthesia a compression garnment will beplaced on you. It begins at the botoom of you breasts and gose all the way down to the bottom of your knees, whith a large opening from you anus to your vagina or penis so that you can use the restroom when needed.

Recovery. Recovery is the worst the first three days. You are given a prescription for pain meds, ant-nausea, meds & antibiotics at your three week pre op visit, so be sure to have those filled and ready for you before your surgery day. Have someone stay with you for a couple of days to help you which getting around and helping you put the garnment on after you shower. Also, keep in mind that opiate medication WILL CAUSE CONSTIPATION!!!! So everytime you take a pain med take a stool softener as well. The first day home from surgery you will sleep and rest all day and night. The next day you will go back to Dr. Mofids office and he will asses you and make sure that eveything looks ok. Then you will see him again in 1 week. I will see him this Tuesday 12/10/13. I was in pain but nothing excuriciating. From 0-10 (10 being the worst) I would say I mabey was a 6 at worst. I stopped taking my percocetts on day three because I was becoming constipated and just started taking extra strength tylenol 1000mg once a day. I have been up and walking around since day 4 and went grocery shopping for a few hours on day five. I also drove on day five and I'm feeling pretty awesome on day 6!

Tips and advice. Just be aware that this is a major surgery and you will need to take some time off from work and or school. Be sure you have someone to take care of you for 2-4 days post op. Make sure to fill all of your prescriptions prior to surgery day. Be realistic as far as expectations go. What I mean is that if you have a small. flat shapped bottom don't expect a Kim Kardashian booty post op. You will have abetter looking booty I can promise you!

Hers some info about me incase you were wondering age, height and or weight prior to surgery. I am a 28 y/o caucasian female HT: 5'4 WT: 135 but size is 34D (natural breast). Size 5 pants. 0 children/ never been pregnant. I will try and see if I can get any of the pre and post op pics from Setera to show you guys how amazing my new booty looks. I hope this alll helps anyone considering to get this procedure.
