54 yo - Total FX laser resurfacing - La Jolla, CA

So today is day 4. It has been a VERY long week as I have stayed in the house the whole time only risking going out at night for a little while. Today, most of the peeling is done except for the edges around my face. The skin is very pink and shiny. Just like brand new. I am in no pain and most of the itching is gone. I have been taking 2 showers a day to soak in warm water and keeping the vaseline like goop on my face 24 hours a day. Still not sleeping really great but it is a full moon and that always affects my sleep. Having trouble keeping my hands off my face while sleeping. Cant wait until I can really wash my hair and style it. Right now I'm washing it very carefully as to not get ANY soap on my face and I am not supposed to even be doing that but with all the grease I am getting in my hair I simply have to... I think the next couple days I will really see improvement. My after care apt is Wednesday and then I can start using sun screen and going outside. YAY

I did this procedure because I have numerous brown spots, pre skin cancers and deep wrinkles around my mouth. Thought I should mention that

So yesterday I was able to take Benadryl and it seemed to help with the itching but I still did not sleep well rubbing my face all night. When I awoke this morning my face was really peeling. I could not wait to take a warm shower and soak my face in the warm water. It is still itchy but nothing like yesterday. About half my face has peeled and I am actually counting the days before I can go out in public. I feel like a butterfly coming out of its cocoon. I feel good and have no pain. My face feels warm to the touch but that is about it.
